Mindful breathing - you can be doing brain retraining in a meeting, walking or anywhere. Remember you don't need to change the way you are breathing, just observe the breath. Pick an activity that you will do repeatedly eg walking to the bathroom & attach mindful breathing to it.
...split attention will mean that your brain defaults to assuming the worst. Today practice doing just one thing at a time. Not only will you be sending strong evidence of safety to your brain, you will also be updating its database of instances where it is safe to stand down.
