Ok, I'm on bluesky now (https://t.co/KjYGN4p3TH, obvs), thank you Grace for the invite, and if @feederofcats would get on there my internet cat set would be complete and I can finally leave this dumpster fire.
But I cannot stress this enough, it's already bad right now and has been for a while, and a lot worse for people who aren't as lucky as I am. This is also true.
All of my friends are absolute basket cases and I get that, but I just don't have room in my life for despair. I haven't worked since March. My life savings is slowly evaporating before my eyes. Every member of my family is medically fragile. I need a new car, can't afford one.
And I recognize that I'm very lucky and very privileged to say that. I live in a very blue state that will probably protect me and my people from the worst that's coming down the pike, and my privilege will offer some protection. I know it's about to get bad. I get that.
I think what amazes me is she didn't give the left one thing to hang their hat on, like even keeping Lina Khan would have at least given progressives something to save face on. She said "Nope, you are voting for this centrism and you are gonna like it." And she was right!
You gotta give Harris credit. She knew that if she didn't give one centimeter to progressives, if she stayed the course and refused all engagement with the left, 99% of them would still vote for her at the end of the day. And people wonder why the party keeps moving right🥴
