The #SLEEP2019 abstract book is out! If you wanted to know what was the latest in sleep research, this is the "sneak preview" of all the great science happening in the field right now! https://t.co/uM0EhsGAgC
Several people have asked whether the BSM Essentials #BSMinar recordings will be made available.
Short answer: YES
Long answer: All sessions are recorded, and it is our plan to release all the recordings at the end of the session! So watch for details this Fall.
In the 1930s, Bessie Stringfield, a Bostonian originally from Jamaica, earned the nickname of "The Motorcycle Queen". From 1929 until 1993, she rode her motorcycle around the Americas, defying several stereotypes about what black women could do. https://t.co/MLHPqpXaVd
For those who try to catch up on lost #sleep during the weekend, French researchers have some bad news: Once Saturday and Sunday have come and gone, many will find they're still seriously short on sleep. https://t.co/LZd5MgHIjF
The PDF in this link is a great resource for women. (Full disclosure - I was one of the patient advocates who helped in its development, but The Society for Women’s Health Research IMO did a great job with it.)
@memnosoncos@mollypriddy I was just about to get diagnosed with my sleep disorder before this all started. My sleep study was scheduled for March 31! It's been delayed for obvious reasons. I can't wait to see how my ADHD improves when they figure that out, the stimulants have already been super helpful

While not technically alive, there's an evil genius to viruses that never ceases to amaze me. It's one reason I became a virologist. A recent Nature paper reveal a remarkable trick SARS-Cov-2 learned that makes it nastier than the first SARS. Both viruses…
@jmatwood Sigh. Finding doctors who are GOOD at diagnosis is like needle-in-haystack searching only more expensive and frustrating. Took me about 11 years to get a diagnosis but 20 to get accurate diagnosis and begin treatment that was actually (slowly) effective...mostly. I hear you.
@jmatwood Just for example, searching just since 2015. Pls forgive if this is treading old ground for you, I just popped back onto this account and saw post from you and know the feeling of being ignored, and of wasting away...💔 Some researchers are also clinicians...
The concept...the very idea...of retirement is dumb.
Waiting until some arbitrary age to enjoy life PLUS stopping all meaningful work all at once...DUMB.
I will never retire.
I will just do more of that stuff I like, and less and less of the stuff I don't.
