This is a mock interview of Rahul Bansal, IPS trainee. Look at how he was concerned about corruption in the bureaucracy, how he himself had been a victim of it, and how he expressed anguish at it.
He is now under scanner for allegedly demanding and receiving ₹1 crore to settle a cyber-fraud case, as reported in the media. The complaint alleges the money was transferred in two ₹50-lakh instalments through hawala channels in May 2026. The complainant submitted alleged WhatsApp chats and call recordings as evidence. A Special CBI Court in Delhi has issued notices and sought an Action Taken Report from the Chhattisgarh DGP and CBI Director on what action has been taken regarding the allegations.
I learned about the Indian caste system, after I got to know what reservation is.
This is a personal story.
In 12 years of my schooling, my parents always taught me to treat everyone with equal respect, with no discrimination.
In Standard 12th, while filling the IIT-JEE form, I asked my dad about the category section. He told me to tick general. I didn't even know which category of caste I was in. That was the extent of my knowledge on the Indian caste system then.
I got a good AIR, and I secured my admission in IIT Madras in Mechanical Engineering. Upon reaching the college, we were allotted our rooms. The room was double occupancy, so I got a roommate. I won't tell his name, because people find caste in names.
The very first exam we had was in a Mathematics course. I passed with flying colors, but he failed. In the evening when I saw him, I asked him to show me his paper. Even some basic differential equation and number systems questions, he had answered wrong.
I was honestly surprised. I asked him, bro, how can you get these wrong. These type of questions, we even had in our JEE paper. He just deflected my question. But, in a few days time, I sensed something was wrong. Because he failed even the Engineering Physics exam (which also had many JEE level questions).
Out of concern, one day I asked him, why is he failing these basic exams. 60-70% were JEE level questions. He should be able to at least answer that. And then he told me his JEE marks on which he secured the admission. I was surprised, and taken aback.
You see, those days, cut off marks was not declared publicly.
And when he told me his marks, there was a significant difference. My first reaction was that it's not fair. Why is he allowed to come to IIT Madras on his low marks while I studied way harder to secure my seat. My second reaction was disappointment when he told me his dad was a IPS officer, and he too secured it basis reservation.
I will be honest. I actually did not speak to him for a few days. But after 7-8 days, I told him that it's very disrespectful to what he is doing with the opportunity he has got. He should focus on studying and not waste it. Imagine a student who got in even though he was complacent with his studies. He even had a fair starting line, resource and money to prepare for the exam (unlike poor students). Honestly, once his dad availed the benefit, he shouldn't have. But, he did. Nothing against him. He didn't do anything illegal. But it's a flaw in the system.
After some time, we became good friends. I constantly tried to help him in studies, but he couldn't grasp many things. Some other seniors also tried to help him with how and what to study, but it didn't help him either. He got a year back, then another year back and then he dropped out.
I realized how reservation has both merits and demerits.
On one hand, it allows the underprivileged students to get a fair starting line. That's affirmative action. I believe that is required. But, along with that, some preparatory courses are also required. Reservations don't apply to college internal exams. What's the point of affirmative action if a person can't cope up with the internal exams?
On the other hand, I realized how many students, even if they had a fair starting line, utilize reservation to get into prestigious colleges, with much lesser hard work. Honestly, they don't deserve that seat. That seat belongs to a meritorious student. If one person has availed reservation, and uplifted himself or herself, reservation to his/her next generation should cease to exist.
And that's why I believe in the below three:-
1. One Nation, One Cutoff
2. One Generation, One Reservation
3. Fair Exams. Fair Starting Line
If the concept of reservation is tweaked with the above ethos, it will ensure both the things - fairness to all students, and affirmative action where it is required due to limited access to resources and opportunities.

If a corporator thinks it’s okay to beat up a doctor, then the next time there’s a pothole in a road in his area, is it okay to beat him?
Asking for several friends
NEET SS 2025 candidates gave their exam on December 27.
Counselling finally began in March end. Joining date was April 10.
Thousands of doctors resigned from jobs, served notice periods, relocated cities, prepared documents, and put their careers on hold to join super-speciality training.
Then suddenly — counselling stopped because of a court case.
Since then?
Endless adjournments.
No hearing.
No accountability.
No clarity from DGHS or MCC.
No response on helplines.
5000–7000 doctors are now sitting jobless because the system cannot decide its own timeline.
You cannot play with the careers of doctors like this.
These are not numbers.
These are years of sacrifice, hard work, and lost income.
Either resolve the matter urgently or at least communicate transparently.
This silence is cruel.

Can’t imagine someone is defending a man caught urinating in a Delhi Metro lift that too in front of two girls by calling it hate and bigotry. Try defending this act by a senior citizen in London, Singapore, Dubai or any civilised city in the world & you’d get your answer! This act doesn’t need sensitivity and empathy it exposes lack of civic sense & disregard of public utility.
“Why are you crying about the re-exam? It’s not like you’ll forget everything you studied in a few weeks. If you are a good student, you can study again and still score well.”
Well, that’s not how things work. Competitive examinations are not merely tests of knowledge, but also tests of timing, mental conditioning, emotional stability, and peak performance achieved after months or years of disciplined preparation. Serious students structure their entire routine around one examination date, carefully managing sleep, revision cycles, stress levels, mock tests, and mental sharpness to perform at their absolute best on that particular day.
When an exam is cancelled despite their honest effort, they are forced to recreate the same level of focus and intensity again, which is mentally exhausting and usually impossible with the same efficiency.
The hardest-working students are affected the most because they invest the greatest emotional and mental energy into preparation. After the first exam, many experience burnout, fatigue, reduced concentration, emotional numbness, and loss of momentum. Even if their knowledge remains intact, their sharpness may decline during the re-exam.
Most damaging of all, paper leaks weaken a sincere student’s faith in merit itself. When students realize that even years of hard work cannot protect them from systemic failures caused by others’ dishonesty, it creates frustration, helplessness, and distrust toward institutions.
This is why a leak-proof exam is non-negotiable, the bare minimum that can be done for hard working students.
No need to come back.
Indians must understand the difference between Bharat, the oldest unbroken dharmic civilization since the Bronze Age, and India, a modern nation-state governed by a democratic system since 1947.
Your love and gratitude for Bharat should not be weaponized as a guilt trip to pull you back to India, where merit is devalued, corruption is normalized, adulteration is rampant, civic sense is poor, pollution is pervasive, babushahi stifles efficiency, appeasement and freebies shape policy, and mobs dictate terms to democratically elected governments.
Bharat stays with you. Wherever you go, the civilization goes with you. If you want to preserve and carry forward that civilization, practice dharmic righteousness wherever you are and uphold its values through your conduct, work, and integrity. You don't have to be in India for it.
The same journalists who passionately backed unsubstantiated Me Too claims are today victim shaming brave Hindu women who have suffered rape and forced conversion.
How long before being a Hindu victim is considered a crime in itself.
Sent in my resignation to the IAP membership as it's becoming too suffocating to stay there, with the leadership worrying more about the funds from Kenvue than the safety of children. No condemnation of the notice issued to me. No condemnation of the public statement made by Kenvue that they presented their hydration portfolio in PEDICON. Giving a position statement on ORS and electrolyte drinks after the notice was sent to me. Emphasizing on Sucralose (clearly showing conflict of interest) that it's safe, without even warning the parents about the potential dangers with long term usage...... disturbance of gut microbiome, diabetes, and related complications like heart attack.
What is the need to even talk about Sucralose in a position statement on ORS and electrolyte drinks. So much ambiguity in the statement. It's basically a script to validate eRZL selling its Sucralose containing drink as a daily hydration drink for children.

Justice Yashwant Varma has resigned.
And that is the end of the corruption proceedings against him. No High Court or Supreme Court judge in India has ever been punished for corruption since independence.
If a judge faces allegations of corruption, the Supreme Court itself examines them and may then recommend impeachment by Parliament. If the judge resigns before impeachment, the matter is closed. Though technically an FIR can still be filed after resignation, governments do not do so. They never have.
So technically, Justice Varma walks free with pension, benefits, and title intact. Wishing honorable Justice Varma a pleasant and joyful post retirement life.
