Football should bring people together, not shut them out.
For the first time since the competition began, fans won’t be able to watch the Champions League final for free. That’s not right.
This is bigger than wanting to watch Arsenal in this historic final. It’s bigger than one club.
Hardworking people shouldn’t have to fork out for a subscription to watch this match.
I urge TNT Sports to reconsider and make the final next Saturday free to watch.
Lloyds has launched a new first-time buyer mortgage needing just a £5,000 deposit 🏡
Key details:
- Up to 98% mortgage (borrow up to £295k)
- Max property price: £300k
- 5-year fixed rate at 5.89%
- No product fees
- Max borrowing: 4.5x salary
- Available to employed + self-employed
But there’s a catch:
- No gifts (“Bank of Mum & Dad” banned)
- No new builds
- No shared ownership
- Strict affordability + credit checks apply
Example:
£300k house = £5k deposit + £295k mortgage.
On the example of a £300,000 home with a £5,000 deposit:
Mortgage = £295,000
Rate = 5.89% fixed for 5 years
Assuming a 40-year term (the max allowed)
Estimated monthly repayment = ~£1,600/month.
If the mortgage term was shorter:
35 years = ~£1,740/month
30 years = ~£1,920/month
That’s before bills, insurance, council tax and maintenance costs.
Lloyds says it’s aimed at renters who can afford monthly payments but can’t save huge deposits. Basically, the majority of Millennials and GenZ!
A retweet by Zack Polanski is now the main story across every single media outlet.
Two days ago, it was revealed that Nigel Farage failed to disclose a £5 million gift from a crypto-billionaire.
It gets nowhere near the media attention, for straightforward political reasons.
Look at this horrific little illegal migrant scumbag laughing after being found guilty of repeatedly raping a drunk girl on a beach. This is what we’re importing. I don’t know how the ‘Refugees Welcome’ brigade sleep at night.
My main problem with #StrangerThings5 is that they’re trying to have 14 different main characters.
I don’t care about Robin and nurse girl.
I don’t care about Jonathan and Nancy.
I don’t care about Hopper and Joyce.
Holly is fun, but she didn’t speak until S5 and now gets like 50% of the screen time.
The show was built around “the party” and Eleven. And now they’ve made half the main characters invisible and the important relationships nonexistent.
Minimum wage in 2005 was £5.05 and a Freddo was 10p. Meaning that one hour of work got you 50 Freddos.
Fast forward to 2025, minimum wage is £12.21 and a Freddo is 35p. Now one hour of work will only get you 34 of them.
That's a 142% rise in pay but a 250% rise in frog shaped chocolate bars.
If wages had kept up with the price Freddos, the minimum wage would be £17.50 an hour.
The economy’s in shambles and yes I’m measuring it in chocolate frogs. But this post is about more than that. Too many people are working full time and struggling to survive because absolutely everything is increasing faster than wages.
Something needs to change.
