We have spoken for too many years about cinematic greatness. Let’s also talk about how Mohanlal has not reacted or addressed issues of women in his industry and mocked them instead.
Another example of #IndigoFirstPassengerLast. An elderly couple on my flight had paid for seats in row 4 so they wouldn't have to walk much. Without an explanation, #Indigo changed it to seat 19. The gentleman was going to struggle to walk till row 19 in a narrow passage. But who cares. A few people had to make a noise, point out the immorality and only then, thanks to the pleasant cabin crew were the original seats restored. But, and this is the point, they had to make a noise otherwise Indigo was going to get them to walk till 19, and check after boarding was complete, if they could be assigned 4, which meant they would have to walk back. The elderly lady was meekly complaining about how this is a common occurrence and how it is stressful for people their age to travel #Indigo. "I wish they didn't have a monopoly" she said. Such a pity. I am sure @IndiGo6E, you can sensitise your ground staff to put the passenger first occasionally. It was so disappointing to see how casually they were moving elderly passengers. With success comes responsibility. As someone who is proud of a successful Indian enterprise, I hope you can be more sensitive and not institutionalise this uncaring attitude.
Dear Software Engineers.. start walking, running, cycling, swimming, Yoga & more.
Read this news from Bengaluru. The IT field is an extremely high pressure job and I know it from inside. You must invest 2 to 3 hours per week for fitness.
(That's just 1 OTT movie less watched)
If grit had a face, it would be yours.
If fightback could be a case study, it would be yours.
If courage had a voice, it would sound like you.
If strength needed an example, it would look up to you
If resilience had a champion, it would be you.

For me, what makes India’s win special is that in an era of bullies, the nice guys have won. Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid. Both have been gentlemen, Rohit never dropped his dignity in the face of all the controversies thrown at him, and he led in a way that's natural to him: being a leader, a team player, a buddy in the locker room.
Think about it: in every field, kids are growing up aspiring to be hyper competitive, hyper aggressive, intolerant bullies. In sports: the brash football culture is more attractive to the gentlemanly kabbadi culture. In industry: kids want to be like Steve Jobs, or some aggressive Indian tech start-up founder, rather than like cultured founders who built empires like Jamnalal Bajaj. In politics, they aspire for Trump, not George W Bush or Vajpayee or Manmohan Singh who were thorough gentlemen. Every part of the world -- sports, politics, corporate, we're seeing hyper competitive, intolerant bullies win.
The world today is telling us it's easier to win if you are an insensitive, transactional, egotistical bully. Yesterday, the gentlemen won. They showed that it's possible for nice guys to win as well.
Postscript: Speaking for all us "nice guys" who watched the recent US presidential debate, we needed a nice guy to win somewhere in the world! To believe that decency can also deliver.
On way to #Noida from Delhi, saw vehicles turning back on the #DND. Not sure, if its closed for #traffic. Took NH24 instead. Huge pile of vehicles at Gazipur flyover. But the road is open. #FarmersProtest2024#traffic
I am reporting a very serious concern @HDFCERGOGIC. My policy is due for renewal next week and I have been receiving reminder calls. Today, a person claiming to be your representative Sudhir Kumar called from 7678245985. He behaved most unprofessionally and started shouting.
When it comes to exercise, every small effort also counts
Many people tell me: “Doc, I can’t run 10 km, or I can’t complete 10,000 steps in a day, or that I can’t work out in a gym for two hours.”
The fact, however, is that one need not put in the maximum effort every day to derive health-related benefits. The benefits start at much lower levels of exercise.
1. Daily steps: People want to achieve 10,000 steps per day and if they fail, they feel their efforts are not worth it. However, research has shown that health-related benefits start at much lower step counts. For example, just about 4000 steps per day reduces the risk of dying from any cause and 2500 steps per day reduces the risk of dying from cardiovascular diseases.
The benefits, however, increase with a greater number of steps (benefits plateau at about 8000-9000 steps per day).
2. Running: Same is true for running also. Running is known to lower the risk of diabetes, hypertension, elevated cholesterol, heart attack, stroke, and dementia; and increase longevity.
Most of these benefits are seen with running just 10 km per week (or about an hour, or just 1-2 days a week) and running at a moderate pace.
Benefits do increase with greater running mileage; however, excessive running can have negative/adverse effects on the heart as well as on longevity.
3. Strength training: Muscle strengthening exercises and weightlifting are associated with lower risk of diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and death. You would be surprised to note that maximum health-related benefits are seen with just 30-60 minutes of strength training exercises.
On the contrary, the benefits seem to disappear at about two hours and may have negative effects on health if strength training is done for >2.5 hours per week.
Take home message.
1. When it comes to exercising, start with small efforts and continue them on a consistent basis.
2. Smaller efforts could also result in great health-related benefits.

When you say you are a practising Muslim/Hindu/whatever, I like the tinge of professionalism you attach to it even when you don't get paid a penny for it. Sounds like a practising lawyer or engineer though, 99% of the time, all you do is follow rituals followed by your family. The other 1% follow rules made by some guys they don't even know. It's beautiful. Your trust in guys who hadn't the foggiest of fog. Religion is a beauty
