Morgan Stanley has again raised its capex forecasts for the five hyperscalers Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, and Oracle. It now expects them to spend about $805bn this year, up from a previous estimate of $765bn. For next year, the forecast has been lifted from $951bn to $1.1TRILLION. To put that into perspective, their 2026 spending alone would be roughly equal to what all non-tech companies in the S&P 500 spent combined in 2025. The expected ~$800bn for 2026 is nearly double 2025 levels and about three times what was spent in 2024.
Belgium won't be very different.
Welfare state exaggerated.
Discouraging people from working, let alone building a company and employing other people.
Unsustainable.
Meanwhile, shadow economy flourishing.
This is probably the wildest data point you'll see today. The cost to a French employer of a net pay of €39k is a staggering €95k. How is this even possible?
Can you imagine the incentive to replace French jobs with AI and robots? Get some popcorn.
Grappig en tegelijk triest.
De zgn. premium automerken die ooit voor top interieurs zorgden, glijden steeds verder weg.
Krasgevoelige 'pianolak' plastics, messy screens, nodeloze touch controls, etc.
@inframe IP van 'intussen poetsen'? of IP van 'in principe'?
volgens de IEC 62196 standaard denk ik:
laadklep dicht -> IP55
tijdens laden -> IP44
Zoals gezegd... beter stofzuigen 😀
France passed a law requiring solar panels on every parking lot with more than 80 spaces.
Parking lots over a certain size have three to five years to cover at least half their surface area with solar canopies or face fines.
The projected output: up to 11 gigawatts of capacity, the equivalent of 10 nuclear reactors.
The panels shade the cars. They can charge EVs directly underneath them. They generate electricity for the grid. The parking lot goes from dead infrastructure to power plant without using a single additional acre of land.
France plans to increase solar tenfold and double wind capacity by 2033.
The US has approximately 800 million parking spaces. Eight hundred million. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight.
Why aren't we doing this?
@MylanPiron@BertWollants@vincent_v_p Klopt helemaal.
@inframe Ja, zo'n attitude genre
'Dit is nu eenmaal mijn persoonlijkheid. Ik moet me daar niet voor excuseren, just deal with it'...
dat is gewoon plat egoïsme hé.
Is it just me or does anyone else think this is utterly ridiculous?
There's a reason why people in terraced houses the length and breadth of this country don't feel confident to even leave a nice plant pot outside their front door. And for good reason.
So how the hell can hundreds of thousands of these devices possibly be left unattended while charging vehicles? Look at it. It might as well have a big flashing neon sign above it saying "VANDALISM OPPORTUNITY ⬇️".
And how the hell do you ensure you can actually park outside your own house?
I know people who've lived in terraced houses for years and have never once been lucky enough to find a space outside their own front door.
This is madness wrapped up in nonsense and topped off with lunacy.
BEV volumes coming off lease will soon surge across 🇪🇺. Yet used #EV buyers still fear #battery degradation & costly repairs.
Why aren’t OEMs’ premium #UsedCar schemes doing more to build trust? Transparent battery #SoH data + extended warranties could kill that FUD.
