🇺🇸 US Billboard Hot 100: reached No. 12 in 1987.
🇩🇪 Germany: No. 1
🇪🇸 Spain: No. 1
🇨🇭 Switzerland: No. 1
🇫🇮 Finland: No. 1
🇿🇦 South Africa: No. 1

It was also one of the best-selling singles of 1986 in the UK, finishing at No. 25 on the year-end chart.

The song was released ahead of the album Running in the Family and helped launch that album’s huge success. Mark King later said the band deliberately wrote it as a crossover pop hit while keeping their signature jazz-funk feel.
