Dans une séquence liée à l'émission "The Bridge", Mbappé évoque un montage humoristique représentant son visage sur le corps de Mao Zedong, expliquant qu'il trouve ce mème particulièrement drôle et qu'il l'utilise avec ses amis.

Les conséquences sont immédiates :

DONGPENG, géant chinois des boissons, annonce rompre toute collaboration avec le joueur, dénonçant des comportements qui "heurtent les sentiments nationaux" et affirmant appliquer une politique de "tolérance zéro".
