@Super_Samario@moonpiecat Canadian alternatives are a lot harder to build than you think, and most assuredly wouldn’t be sustainable or would result in higher prices for the same goods
@TheBigMan60@RobynUrback Changing leaders while Carney is making mistake after mistake is just stupid. But sure who would be a better option that would equally be attacked by the liberal biased media or wouldn’t be just like O’tool who tried the “middle” approach and fail to garner votes
@sarobertson_@whistlersharon Crazy part of this is the average home in Canada is hovering around 700k, meaning with that 3.2B the liberals could have bought 4,500 single family homes instead of 2,200 overpriced condos that better the develepors a large profit. Still an inflationary stupid policy but still…
@FaninYYC@NorrisWinner@zman0088 You keep repeating the same thing but you’re part of the minority. It sucks but he took a promotion in the league, it wasn’t a lateral move or because of anything other than a career decision.
@Linda3429859564 @EricDuncanSDG@Baird Leave it to liberals to claim having moral high ground over their political opponents but then post racist caricatures to attack those opponents
@whirlwindf65201@RodAVanier Explain how overpaying for condos a developer couldn’t sell, “calling them into affordable housing” and not making any return on investment is a good investment? All they did was prevent a market correction that would have lowered prices naturally
@worldhockeyrpt Are you dense? They had one of the best records in the league in the second half of the season, “point of frustration” ≠ “letting a podcast affect their play”
@gothburz@foreverMagoo71 As someone in the contracting industry, I can tell you for sure that technicians are not privy to margins, costs or this level of detailed information at the managerial level.
@foreverMagoo71@Canadianafella@Reil76 Sure, but down doesn’t equal sustainable. Multiculturalism isnt a strength on its own, but is something I valued growing up. Where people come from isn’t the problem, it’s the fact that we have a housing and affordability crisis so all immigration should be economic migrants.
@foreverMagoo71@Canadianafella@Reil76 Not really, he’s way more articulate than Trump. Is Canada first not MAGA. Every campaign and party has slogans. You’re just repeating CBC/Liberal talking points. And probably listen to too much Laura Babcock.
@foreverMagoo71@Reil76 You completely dodged the 3.2 billion developer bailout point. Buying up condos above market value directly stops prices from correcting. And housing prices are not dropping everywhere. The national average is back over 700k and multiple provinces are hitting record highs.
@Canadianafella@foreverMagoo71@Reil76 Yup same boat man. 31, good paying job and I still have to save more for a down payment than my grandparents bought their first house for.
@foreverMagoo71@Reil76 We can agree to disagree, especially when you think Carney is making life affordable. Spending $3.2B on the condo scheme just bails out wealthy developers. True affordability requires letting the market correct naturally so home prices actually come down for everyday Canadians.
@foreverMagoo71@Reil76 Also Carney presents himself as a centrist, but he isn’t and his party isn’t. Under his leadership there was a change in public facing tone and messaging but not in ideological thinking. Same liberal stagnation which is why we had two straight quarters of negative growth.
@foreverMagoo71@Reil76 Scrapping GST on new homes is another conservative policy. And I never said it was bad to adopt popular opposition policies. But at the end of the day all of Carney’s wins are watered down conservative policies that would have been implemented under Pierre plus more.
