Media reports that a convicted international drug trafficker is helping a mayoral and regional council campaign is troublesome.
Enhancing my concern over criminality trying to influence our municipal election campaign is that a man charged of recently terrorizing our community through brazen extortions is now working on a campaign for a regional councillor.
Why are these criminals working on campaigns?
What input do they expect at the regional council table from these candidates, that if successful, will oversee the police budget?
I encourage all residents to do their homework before voting and make sure they do not choose candidates who are accepting support from alleged extortionists and convicted drug traffickers.

Today, we marked the launch of the 2026 Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Campaign with a community flag raising at Ken Whillans Square.
As Remembrance Day approaches, we honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served our country. Wearing a poppy is a meaningful way to remember their service, while donations to the campaign help support veterans and their families.
Residents are also encouraged to attend upcoming Remembrance Day services across Brampton to pay tribute to those who have served and continue to serve Canada.
