We proudly endorse Brampton Mayor @patrickbrownont for his strong support of the Sikh community. He has defended religious freedom by opposing Bill 21,spoke against transnational repression, and called on the federal government to list the Bishnoi gang as a terrorist organization
What happened at Nanaksar Gurdwara in Edmonton is horrifying and unacceptable.
No Canadian should fear being attacked while worshipping. Violence, hate and intimidation against our Sikh community or any community will not be tolerated.
In addition to tougher bail and sentencing laws passed by Canada's government, we will continue to give our local police forces and national security apparatus stronger tools and resources to keep Canadians safe.
To my Sikh friends: Those who threaten or commit violence in Canada will be caught, prosecuted and face serious consequences.
We strongly condemn the attack on Gurdwara Sahib in Edmonton. We also condemn the collaboration between Hindu nationalist elements and white supremacist groups that spreads hate. We urge the Govt to take firm action against foreign interference fueling division and violence.
PRESS RELEASE: SIKH ORGANIZATIONS CALL ON MPS TO COMMIT TO TRANSPARENCY ON INDIAN INTERFERENCE
The British Columbia Gurdwaras Council (BCGC), Ontario Gurdwaras Committee (OGC), Quebec Sikh Council, Dashmesh Culture Centre (Alberta), Sikh Federation (Canada), and the World Sikh Organization of Canada (WSO) have received a number of responses to letters calling on Canadian MPs to make tangible commitments upholding transparency and defending our ability to exercise fundamental freedoms.
Canadians across the country have expressed concern regarding Prime Minister Carney’s trip to India and what appears to be a lack of principled clarity in Canada’s approach. Many are troubled by the perception that engagement is being prioritized without visible accountability or measurable safeguards.
Public confidence requires that Canada’s foreign policy be grounded first and foremost in defending Canadian sovereignty, the rule of law, and the safety of its citizens.
We look forward to continued engagement with Members of Parliament to ensure that these principles are upheld in practice, not only in rhetoric.

41 years ago, thousands of Sikhs were killed in brutal, state-backed violence. As we remember the victims of the 1984 genocide, we honour the courage of survivors and reaffirm our commitment to truth and justice. #1984SikhGenocide
We urge the Canadian government to extradition proceedings against Bishnoi and complicit Indian officials, ensuring accountability for these heinous acts. Justice for Nijjar endures! 🇨🇦🕊️ #JusticeForNijjar#EndForeignInterference#SikhRights
The Ontario Gurdwaras Committee commends Canada’s designation of the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate as a terrorist entity under the Criminal Code, a decisive response to their egregious transnational crimes, including the assassination of Shaheed Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Elderly Sikhs have been the victims of two separate incidents of unprovoked violence in the past week. The elderly Sikhs are seen being attacked in England as well as in America in what many are alleging are hate crimes as the diaspora sees a spike in Anti-Sikh hate crimes.
OGC condemns @MelissaLantsman & @shuvmajumdar for equating free speech & self-determination with terrorism, aligning with India's misinformation & killings of Khalistani activists. We urge @CSISCanada to investigate @shuvmajumdar's financial ties to India & its proxies #canpoli
Contrary to @csiscanada's 2024 Public Report, which stated “non-violent advocacy for an independent state of Khalistan is not considered extremism," @CPC_HQ's @MelissaLantsman & @shuvmajumdar, both equated Sikh political advocacy for Khalistan as "terror" in recent speeches.
Melissa Lantsman, when identifying current terrorist threats to Canada said, "Elements of Khalistani terror who terrorize communities and people in their neighbourhoods in this country.”
She did not allude to what "Khalistani terror" has recently occurred in Canadian neighbourhoods. There has been, however, Indian government-orchestrated criminal gangs committing homicides, arsons, and shootings in Canadian neighbourhoods, targeting Sikhs, as part of a broader campaign of transnational repression.
Shuvaloy Majumdar called out terror groups in Canada and said, “To never back down, to never surrender, and to never be afraid to name them, whether they are Hamas or Hezbollah or Khalistan or anything else.”
Khalistan, unlike Hamas or Hezbollah, is not an organization or group, but a name given to the long-standing principles of Sikh self-determination.
Baaz reached out to the CPC asking if these recent comments are official party positions. We did not receive a response in time for this post.
Sikh organizations had also reached out to the CPC, asking for clarification on these recent comments, but did not hear back.
The Bishnoi gang, tied to India’s gov’t, threatens Canadians. Declare it a terrorist group & review all info-sharing with foreign states. Canada must stand firm against repression on our soil! 4/ #SikhSafety#DefendCanada
On the 2nd anniversary of Bhai Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s assassination, the Ontario Gurdwaras Committee demands justice. Canada must hold India accountable for transnational repression & protect Sikh Canadians. #JusticeForNijjar#canpoli
BREAKING | BC Premier @Dave_Eby will be asking PM @MarkJCarney to designate India's Bishnoi Gang as a terrorist organization. The gang is used by the Indian govt to conduct transnational repression in Canada, as per the RCMP, including arsons, homicides, & extortions targeting Sikh Canadians.
BREAKING | "Canada must remain vigilant about continued foreign interference conducted by the government of India, not only within ethnic, religious and cultural communities, but also in Canada’s political system,” CSIS states in its annual report to Parliament.
The Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference found India to be the second most active country, after China, in foreign interference activities targeting Canada's democratic institutions.
India is also the leading country in transnational repression, using its Indian Government-Criminal Gang Nexus to carry our extortions, homicides, and shootings targeting the Sikh Canadian community as per the RCMP.
Happening now: Sikh groups protest in Canada against @MarkJCarney invitation to Indian Prime Ministers Modi for the G7 Summit, citing concerns over safety and justice for the Sikh community. #G7Summit#SikhProtests#canpoli
