DCSO will have an increased patrol presence in the areas where properties were damaged over the next week to provide safety and stability to the affected areas as well as keep out potential looters and trespassers who may try to take advantage of the situation.
There's a threat for severe weather between 5 PM - 10 PM today for eastern Nebraska & western Iowa. Large hail up to 3" (apple size) is our main threat, but damaging gusts up to 70 MPH & a couple tornadoes are possible. Stay weather aware this evening!

Late last night, the United States Honor Flag arrived in Nebraska to be part of the services to honor Trooper Kyle McAcy #302.
It was a moving scene, as the flight’s captain presented the flag to the NSP Honor Guard, with many of the flight’s passengers looking on.
Only if the “older members” would make the calls now… I’m talking about 40-50’s year olds. The 60’s-80’s wish they could still do it but physically they can’t.
It never leaves your blood, not if you truly loved it. Unfortunately, age is the great equalizer. Embrace the journey, appreciate each mile traveled, because one day you’ll have to exit the ride.

Rocky, the K9 Deputy shot twice yesterday is expected to make a full recovery. ❤️🩹 the vet says that he walked twice today and that his handler hasn’t left his side. He’s expected to be released in the next 48 hours or so! The US Marshals say that Rocky saved lives yesterday.
