François Arnaud says he doesn’t believe ‘Heated Rivalry’ could have been created in the US in new CBS morning interview:
“It was [pitched] to big streamers before, and they had so many notes and so many thoughts about what the show could be that Jacob [Tierney] decided to leave them and get it made in Canada. Granted, a much smaller budget, but he was like, ‘I can do the show I want to make.’ I think this is what people are responding to. It’s a huge lesson for Hollywood people— that this is a niche show with no movie stars, and it’s become a much bigger sensation. They didn’t want any kissing until episode five.”
