I'm not sure if it's the same with anyone else, but with this quarantine I found a new appreciation for just being able to go outside. Throughout the day I have to take a walk at some point to not go crazy staying inside the whole day
I enjoy the fact that we are able to choose whether we would rather write a final or not. I do feel bad however for students who have to write a final and may have to buy a webcam just for their finals.
Lately, I've been reading many posts and conversations on Facebook about the use of TestReach which is pretty much surveils students during an exam. I wonder if this will be used for all exams seeing the negative backlash it's gotten so far
After watching the Mickey Mouse Monopoly documentary, I've never noticed all those issues that the film pointed out. I thought Disney films were just for the purpose of entertaining children and families. From now on I'll be definitely watching Disney films with a different lens
It'll be interesting to see the outcome of all classes that will be taught online. Perhaps the school and teachers may think this will be beneficial to increase the amount of online classes offered. It may also have the opposite affect of online classes being too much of a hassle
I found Journal 4 had a great topic to write about. It was very easy to think of relevant social media movements in the past few years that we care about and discuss how much impact they really had to our society.
I've seen that McGill is not having any in-person exams. I wonder if Concordia will be following the same policy and how much this virus will effect the rest of the semester.
After reading the article from lesson 10 about the woman who was sexually assaulted and murdered while walking in the streets was an extremely sad story. I'm not sure where the government would start in order to prevent these situations from occurring.
@IMironovv I watched this too! Very informative video to know what is actually happening with this virus. I'm also a huge JRE fan so I'm kind of biased in trusting this video lol
@AshleyT68136600 I hope so too! I have no clue depending on how long the school is closed, how it will effect the winter semester and the summer following.
Depending on what happens in the near future if majority classes from all universities will be offered through online sections only. Where the lectures will be given through Skype sessions and the exams will be taken online.
The more I hear about this virus, the more difficult it is to know the actual severity of it. There's so many sources that have different opinions I'm not sure which ones to trust. Also each news outlet constantly discussing it may be over amplifying how dangerous it really is.
@anlestrauss94 Depends what you find more helpful, sometimes when it comes to classes of understanding theory and memorizing it's better to stay at home where it's quiet and can easily focus or for classes that require more application studying with friends can be very beneficial.
@AshleyT68136600 Agree! I believe most parents who do this mean to share their children's photos and experiences to their closest friends but forget that their profiles may be public or don't realize they friended people they don't know very well.
@AlexanderLoRus1 I think no matter what kind of technology or tools that are used in class, a teacher who can make a lecture interesting and have great explanations are the best.
Even when adjusting the brightness, at times when I'm constantly staring at my screen, whether studying or working I could feel my eyes straining or even have headaches. I hope in the long run, the large amount of screen time I use does not come back to haunt me.
