The concept of proctoring the finals online is one of the worst ideas ever. Not only is it an invasion of privacy, but some students also do not have a webcam or microphone attached to their computers or are simply not comfortable with appearing before the eyes of a stranger
criticizing is good but criticizing outdated stuff with today's point of view is in my opinion a bit to easy. I'd like to see criticises on more contemporary movies and see if the results would be the same.
@alosacco307 I'm in the same situation, I keep procrastinating and saying I will do it later when I am more focused but it feels like there's never a "right time" for it
@AlexanderLoRus1 I agree fully, I think they have since backtracked on the idea though unless the professor of the course thinks it's absolutely necessary.
*Finish that book you started
*Exercise Indoors
*Take your vitamins
*Try cooking that recipe you been wanting to try
*Play videogames online with your friends

@armelacelaj1 Yes! I tweeted earlier in the semester that it's worth the lowest part of our grade but it seems like we've spent most our time on it during this class. Maybe if the grading rubric is adjusted for this semester to account for not having an in-person final it could be higher
@Educ307Salome Maybe the ones from the 20th century, since when they made DisneyPlus they added disclaimers that some movies had negative racial stereotypes.

I found it interesting that in the lecture it was stated that there is no direct translation for the word "feminism" in Arabic. However, someone in the comments pointed out a few years later that there is the word "النسويّة" for it. #lesson10
@TiffanyVizzi I agree and on top of that they should give out more 4G data since some people don't have wifi in their homes. It's very inexpensive for those companies to provide us with that but due to the monopolies in the telecom industries in Canada we have to pay much higher prices.
@ProfMaratta Thank you for clarifying! At least it's a good thing with online courses that we won't be too far behind and if we are all set to continue with our work we already have the lessons/journals and can study for the midterm without being restricted.
@armelacelaj1 @HamamiAmal@ProfMaratta Yeah I don't really understand what the email means and why online courses would be canceled when postponing assessments hurts the students and #COVID19 doesn't have much to do with online classes. Unless it's giving those affected some time to recover/readjust which I understand
I personally believe that the fear is justified, I know this clip has been shared around any times but an infectious disease expert and his team have found the conservative estimate for fatalities will be 480,000 in the US alone

With the media and public's reaction to the virus, do you believe that we are overreacting and it isn't as bad as we're made to believe or do you think the nations aren't taking enough proactive measures and it's going to be more serious than we think?
@adamo_mac While I believe that is the best action for Concordia to take, I'm really concerned with my classes being taken online as a lot of them are hands on and I'm not sure if I can trust all my professors to know how to use technology most effectively to take their classes online
@SamarasSereena Snapchat's team isn't big enough to be able to monitor the amount of snaps sent all over the world every minute (2million+) so it's most likely that any snapchat you send won't be seen. But if for any reason they wanted to spy on your specifically they could which is pretty scary
their identity/personality, and if it works for them they can take it to the real world. Of course this only applies as long as the individuals in question aren't pretending to be someone else entirely or using the protection of the screen to cyberbully.
A lot of people say that the internet is deceptive because it allows adolescents and other people to pretend to be someone who they aren't behind the screen, but I agree with the article which states it can be helpful because they can (1/3)
"try on different identities and experiment with social behaviours in a relatively safe way."
Especially when we are young, we don't know how we should act or what we want to be like, which also changes over time. The internet is a safe space to incorporate new things into(2/3)
