@FavianRenkel Bring back group stage.
Include USL Premier (when live) & CPL teams.
Split & rotate hosting rights. I.e. Group stage in Mexico, Knockouts in US & final in Canada.
Have some games on the weekend.
Final on network TV.
US Open Cup criticism:
Attendance is low. Teams don't take it seriously.

Predictions on what Larry Berg will work on as MLS Commissioner after his introductory Press Conference:
1. Divisions
2. No Pro/Rel
3. Loosening Roster Restrictions as much as possible before the new Media Rights deal in 2029

@HelltownBeer I think a variation of the single table could work plus making Open Cup the marquee tournament instead of MLS Cup would pay more dividends down the road.
@BrianSciaretta Great stuff Brian. “Berg was elected by a two-thirds majority vote among fellow owners.” Do we know how the actual vote went? Does this mean 1/3 voted for David or was there a neither option?
A new home for the Soccer Club of Maine 🏟️
We’re thrilled to announce we have entered into an agreement to acquire land at Cassidy Point in Portland, where the club plans to build a 9,000–11,000 seat soccer-specific stadium that will serve as a permanent home for the club's men's and women's teams.

@tsnmike@ChannelJuanNews If you don't click with the team's owners, front office, & supporter group then your choice is either supporting domestic soccer or not. No matter how entertaining the soccer is.
I've been enjoying watching the Open Cup games.
Vending machine theory. Look it up.
@tsnmike@ChannelJuanNews NFL is the best pro American football league in the world and college football brings the game closer to home for many Americans.
American soccer doesn't have that luxury because it's a global game.
If I don't click with my local MLS team then I'll explore other options.
@tsnmike@ChannelJuanNews American soccer is not only MLS.
MLS Cup is flawed as 18 teams can qualify make the playoffs. Awkward when a lower seed team becomes Champion.
The Cup doesn't mean much when non-MLS teams can't compete.
No surprise Cup averaged 1.76 million viewers over the last decade.
@tsnmike@ChannelJuanNews We may very well go back to those days if MLS doesn't evolve.
The world is flatter & American consumers have the option to support any league in the world.
That is the cold hard truth.
