I’ll steel man the Talmud so I don’t misrepresent it. It’s centuries or legal debates between rabbis not laws. And I’m totally willing to say that human development is a long road and there was a time when other tribes and people could appear foreign and non human and trying to figure out how to interact with them is a road and requires mistakes and growth.
