The poem "Opening Day" was my effort to make sense of the tragic loss of #SanDiego Padre pitcher Eric Show.
The poem, about baseball and spring and return and renewal, was first heard on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" in 1996.

Texas Rep.James Talarico says that the reason poverty exists in one of the Wealthiest Countries on Earth isn’t because we can’t afford to feed the poor it’s because we can’t satisfy the rich!

Aware how he may come across, Flea insists "I'm not being corny. This shit is real."
"You want to be tough? Peace and Love is the toughest, hardest thing you can do."
Are Sherbert & Flea on to something?

Dee quotes Biz Sherbert of @NymphetAlumni: “If mass culture runs on conflict, then the only real counterculture left is love.”
Recalls @flea333's "plea" that "I don't care about your politics" and "everything besides love is cowardice."
