@_sevatar@mc_swm The analogy between biological neural networks and artificial neural networks is weak but if you don't know anything the terms look similar
My kids will start with group theory at age 5 and when they reach 1st grade they will be like WTF how do they already know about rings and addition/multiplication on Z
China has developed a new laser mosquito-killing system that uses radar to locate mosquitoes flying in the air, then uses lasers to shoot them down. The system can quickly eliminate mosquitoes in an area through a physical method.
A drone-focused version is expected to be launched soon.
@maxwelltani They only know to see and hear as those are the only modalities that can be stored shared and imitated digitally. Thats y they are so impotent in arousing the other 3 senses and the messy rest of cool human experience. No matter the image presented we all know reality was boring.
If I sampled "rationalists" from a party and told them that I had a survey about sexual preferences, but it was actually was a test on applications of Bayes' Theorem that you can work out on scratch paper or mentally, I wonder how many would pass
You can tell that people who think intelligence comes from matrix multiplications are LARPers because the part that makes the neural network interesting (not just linear reg) is the nonlinearity, so the implication is that they never learned about universal function approximation
The issue with hard problem of consciousness for me coming from someone who has never bothered to take a phil of mind class is that when trying to define consciousness its like an ostensive pointing to some private experience I kinda get but then you cant really talk about it
