your best work will come from the serendipity of the unabridged process itself. there’s no optimizing for it.
optimizing for an idealized end result removes the invisible hand that otherwise subtly informs the direction you take as the process branches on and reveals new ideas.
@PaulFisch1@wyp100@aviromanoff Sony just re released black ops 1&2, it’s already the best selling CoD this year, ahead of the newest release. Many of these games are locked to first party streaming services as well. This is most definitely a disruption to their current plans for older titles. Surely they care.
@ValorantUpdated Ppl need to remember replay viewer isnt accurate to what you see in game in terms of hit registration and micro. What you see in game is slightly different because of your individual connection to the server. Replays should be used for a macro view of what’s happening in rounds
@azaelhn@poliwa_93 Any game can cost that much when your developer is based in California with 450 employees over the course of 5 years. Games aren’t expensive because of the technology used to make them, it’s the cost of employment. Cost of living is an all time high so employees are expensive

@TheLittIeEndian@game_fabricator@HiddenXperia Multiple SKUs, more PC hardware to account for with way more features. Cost of employment is probably the biggest one. Old bungie Halo games were developed for a single console with much more primitive scope, smaller teams with lower cost of living. (If I had to guess)
@phaiyuratwill@aadil05822 Salaries and overhead. Studio is based in Burbank so it’s not cheap to run a ~500 person studio. That’s the reality of most game dev, the cost isn’t the technology, it’s the people.
@ScottyDo48@Hollowtide Exactly, he did his job and launched the game, stuck around for a bit to see it through and off he goes to the next project. I can almost guarantee he will go to another studio to help launch another game or franchise, that’s just what he does. This is pretty typical in game dev
