@howtogeek Just said bye to @evernote after 10+ years. Was my go-to every day. EVERY DAY. Opened up this morning. Couldn't make a new note w/o coughing up $. I'm out. Migrating over the @Apple Notes.
@BBVD Hey guys! We’re coming to see you tonight in Akron. It’s our son’s 16th bday. Any chance for a stage shout out to Joseph? He’s plays alto sax and is soooooo pumped to see you tonight. Would totally make his night :) Cheers!
Just ordered a copy of @malcolmguite ‘s Parable and Paradox. After hearing him read “Smoke Rings…” on YouTube (okay…binge watching), I can’t wait! Thanks for sharing your words, good sir!
Maybe Christians aren’t supposed to feel excited, energized, or connected to a political party. Maybe the most Christian response to all-the-everything happening right now is the hope-infused sorrow song that simply sighs: “Come, Lord Jesus. Come.” Maybe. And seriously.
Theological liberals treat black-and-white issues as if they’re gray. Legalists treat gray issues as if they’re black-and-white.
Mature Christians, gladly submitted to God’s Word in a healthy church, do the harder work of holding truths in tension and resisting easy extremes.
"You're only as sick as your secrets."
I propose we normalize asking for help, raising a hand, waving a flag, and seeking the care we need when we need it.
Fiercely pursue relationships where you can be your true self, scars and all.
We don't do family like that. Or we shouldn't. If Grandma said, "Next Thanksgiving we're gonna eat outside" we wouldn't find a new grandma. You could tell Grandma you don't like it. That you wish we could go back inside. But you're there Thanksgiving eating her food.
Many people have been church hopping this season because they didn't see joining a church in the first place as joining a family so much as a vibe. Having to meet different hours, different places, different ways -- that changes the vibe. So they're looking elsewhere.
For the world to be all that God dreamed it could be we need people who are first of all CONTRIBUTORS and not CONSUMERS. This starts local and expands global.
Jesus said, "I did not come to be served, but to serve..." (Matthew 20:28)
