📍 WARNER, OK - High School Students Learn How To Build A House From The Ground Up!
A dozen students in a construction class at Warner High School have completed a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home, which is now for sale.
The school district is accepting sealed bids for the home at 1003 E 5th Avenue in Warner, with a minimum bid of $210,000.
The bids will be opened on May 15th.
Teacher Ira Jackson returned to the classroom after retiring to teach the hands-on work.
“The goal of the program is to produce students who can read a tape measure and understand the basics of carpentry and building, and move on from there,” he said.
Several students already have job offers after working alongside licensed trades workers during construction.
Ethan Atkerson, a Warner High School senior, said he helped with cabinetry, guttering and lighting, and is certain he’ll pursue a career in construction.
“I’ve loved doing every part of this,: he said. “It’s all been enjoyable to me. I like being able to work with my hands, and this is something that I can work with my hands and look at the work and think, I did that, I’m proud of that.”
Every high school in America should be doing this!

Joke aside, I’m so happy for you. Congrats my friend!!
@OSSAAOnline you have got to find some better officials. These 3 in the Booker T/Carl Albert boys game are beyond bad. I have no dog in this fight, but they are ruining what should be a great game.
Wearing her sister Addy’s #13 jersey to honor her on what should have been her senior night, freshman @HarpLanham2029 tied the game with 1.3 sec left and follows it up with a game winning FT. Addy passed unexpectedly as a junior at Dibble High School in Oklahoma in November 2024
Here’s a Christmas miracle for all the non believers of Jesus Christ our savior!
Ramsey was born clinically dead. She was put on life support immediately after being born.
She was un responsive and had little to no signs of life. She had a blood clot in her cord for over 30 minutes and no oxygen for 15 despite all efforts.
According to "science" she should be brain dead or we should have completely lost her that day. According to God and his plans he put her on this earth for a reason and he wasn't done with her 3 years ago today. I lost too much blood to be able to function normally so my mom and dad came to the hospital to make the decisions I couldn't help Jed with. They
immediately called Father John to do an emergency baptism because it didn't look like she was going to make it.
This video is the very first time she showed any response. She hadn't cried, opened her eyes, moved, breathed, nothing.
As soon as Father John Baptized her, she tried to cry over her vent, she moved her eyes and her body for the very first time.
If you need a reason this Christmas to believe or a reason to have hope for anything that doesn't seem to be going your way, this is it. She shouldn't be here. At the very least she should have been severely brain damaged.
Everything was against her as far as science went. But God was in her corner and that's all she needed. All odds were against her. You can quite literally see the life come back to her
She's alive, she's completely normal, she's living the life we thought she would never get to live thanks be to God

I don’t like 50 year mortgages as the solution to the housing affordability crisis.
It will ultimately reward the banks, mortgage lenders. and home builders while people pay far more in interest over time and die before they ever pay off their home.
In debt forever, in debt for life!
Instead stop companies and asset managers from buying up single family homes, which has driven the price of homes and forced homebuyers to compete with corporations that turn thousands of homes into permanent rental homes.
Let people with a good rent history qualify for mortgages.
And..
PASS MY BILL - NO CAPITAL GAINS TAXES ON THE SALE OF YOUR PRIMARY HOME.
This will help people keep the equity they have earned owning their home for a very long time and likely allow them to lower the price of their home for sale since they won’t be paying taxes after they sell their home.
It really will help seniors sell their houses and keep their equity, which also in turn gives them money they need and that gets put back in the economy.
