NEW: @potus letter to @jonasgahrstore links @NobelPrize to Greenland, reiterates threats, and is forwarded by the NSC staff to multiple European ambassadors in Washington. I obtained the text from multiple officials:
Dear Ambassador:
President Trump has asked that the following message, shared with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, be forwarded to your [named head of government/state]
“Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a “right of ownership” anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also. I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT”
@dlboardman Not sure why we bother to recognize him without immediate satire and humor. Pentagon's reax to his weird-crazy in January seemed appropriate. https://t.co/bP26vBKnCf
Tomorrow is the second round of layoffs from the Center for Public Integrity https://t.co/Hq0o91eN4n that leaves it with very little editorial and administrative staff.
Hoping tboard can find a way forward to preserve this center that inspired the creation of so many others

As the end of the year requests for donations pour in, I hope you will consider this one. The Midwest Center for Investigative Reporting does crucial in-depth coverage of agribusiness. Donations by Dec. 31 matched $ for $ & are for a reporter's salary

Did an update on the history of data journalism. Impossible to include all that has happened and everyone involved in the last 50 years or so (that is a book) but mentioned as much as I could.https://t.co/X4yWo4Pptr
Look at the @511Tactical ballcap on one of the Taliban fighters behind Khalil Haqqani in Kabul here, mimicking the aesthetics of the western SOF who’ve fought them
Quite the evolution that company’s fan base has undergone over the past 20 years, from climbing pants to this
