“This sport should be popular on every campus in the country…”
Troy Coach Skylar Meade is one of the most fascinating coaches in the sport. Here’s what he had to say when he was asked what makes College Baseball so unpredictable:
.@EIU_Baseball head coach @pitchn09 talked about the Panthers extra inning victory over No. 1 seed SIUE on Friday at the OVC Baseball Championship.

@CounterptSports@willscards 1) what does that have to do with wood bats?
2) Here is Michael Young. You probably don’t know who Michael Young is because you don’t know ball, but he had over 2000 knocks in the big leagues
Grandma takes you to a baseball game and you accidentally unlock a core memory on live TV that’ll follow you for the rest of your life.
Props to the guy in the hockey jersey for giving the kid the ball.
@Sppix@AuburnBlazer Yes, he can be surprised that a university with a $15 billion endowment, a nearly billion dollar football stadium in the works, a 9 figure athletics budget, and a team that plays in the big 10 couldn’t find a way to come up with $150k for lights
@Brett_A_Taylor Well Bratt since they are almost equal defensively (Hoerner with 2 less errors in ‘25, and Turang with Gold Glove in ‘24) I’m taking the guy that can actually hit the ball out of the infield.
Sports aren’t supposed to be sunshine and rainbows — it’s competition. You don’t need to be shaking hands during the game.
Love this from Cal. Reminds me of when Kobe ran right through Pau Gasol in the Olympics even though they were teammates.
I don’t get the Cal Raleigh/Randy Arozarena discourse.
All people have been talking about is how the US doesn’t take the WBC with the same seriousness as other countries. Cal Raleigh doesn’t shake hands with a competitor and now that’s an issue?
Do you want the US to treat this seriously or do you want every one to share orange slices and juice boxes after the game? Pick your side
@crewsox11@Brett_A_Taylor That’s what it seemed like with the shudder step. 2B aren’t used to fielding balls that far to their right. Probably assume BW had it.
