The thing that creeps me out the most about it is how he storms off camera/ditches the mics and scolds her when he doesn’t like how they’re being portrayed. Even for “woo-hoo Libra season!” I’m glad Nia appears to be finding a voice - I could actually grow into a fan of hers if she’d be a little more open and honest about Danny’s issues
They both needed to change. There didn’t appear to be much growth from either side of their relationship. Amanda resented him for cheating, staying out late, partying, not growing out of that lifestyle and eventually pursuing a DJ career as a way to stay out late under the guise of “paying the bills”. Kyle resented her for staying in, smoking weed, being lazy, not being intimate often enough, and airing out their dirty laundry (pun intended) to their friends. There’s no reason to paint Kyle as the martyr and a sweet innocent man who just wanted to save his family - they both laid the groundwork for this disaster from day one. Amanda deserves all the hate she’s getting for what she did to Ciara but at the end of the day this relationship was destined to fail and that’s okay to admit.
@jrhino5@AllAboutTRH I respect your opinion - I was being a bit mean/obtuse in my post, but I think there are some legitimate points there worth diving further into 😊
Also, just so you know my opinion (respectfully) and because the person I just tried to reply to blocked me 😂:
She’s piling on about the “doubling down” - she knows where Janet stands and there’s no point in continuing to bring it up in group settings other than to gang up on her. IMO the only thing that could bring resolution would be Danny and Nia saying “we understand how you came about using that terminology” and easing off the idea that Janet was deliberately weaponizing it to ruin their lives as part of some Jax-led conspiracy, at which point Janet would be willing to apologize for how far she took things and the damage her words caused. But we know that won’t happen, and Janet clearly won’t back down first, so I’m not going to hold my breath.
@Miklaineee@maxhadid30 I don’t think Kyle genuinely wanted to save the marriage. He didn’t put in the work in the years leading up that would’ve been necessary for that to be a sincere effort. Sure he said that he did, but in my opinion they both dragged it out far too long
@Miklaineee@maxhadid30 I’ve said I don’t think either of them was really looking to save their marriage; it’s disingenuous for both of them to be whining about how that’s the goal when neither of their behaviors backs that up
@thom_ahs Thinking he can hide it from the cameras is what tells me he really has a problem. It’s obvious that it’s a deep-seated issue when you think you can outsmart everyone around you, including the film crew following you around 😬
I believe the brand of Christianity they appear to subscribe to is one that lends itself to the desired appearance of perfection. Danny clearly has control issues (RE: multiple instances of him stomping around speaking in an aggressive tone toward Nia because he’s upset with how she spoke to him on camera) and I think it’s a fair assumption to conclude that those spill over into his family life.
I’ve seen a lot of parallels of the Janet/Nia situation with the Jo-Ellen/Rulla beef on #RHORI. I think Jo-Ellen would be fine letting the Brian cheating stuff go if she hadn’t been accused of being a liar for Rulla’s benefit. Same goes on #TheValley; Janet doesn’t care about Danny being an awful drunk as much as she does about proving that what she said about him wasn’t a lie, contrary to what Nia has stood beside him and said repeatedly to bolster their image as a couple
Yes, he repeatedly deflected and said it “was his first rodeo”, he didn’t know what he was doing, didn’t remember liking things/know what they were talking about, etc. - he was moving the goalposts during that whole scene rather than just owning up to it off the bat.
I really don’t think “doing Jax’s dirty work” is the right phrasing. Jesse is apparently the only person on this cast dumb enough to openly admit to being manipulated by Jax and Kentucky Muffin 😂
I personally thought she really crossed the line saying he was creepy at the Super Bowl party on the reunion.
Continuing to stick up for Jasmine after Danny’s apology actually turned out to be less of a bad thing when we realized Jasmine’s feelings lingered due to watching all of their friends rabidly defend Danny and repeatedly dismiss her and Melissa’s experience.
I really think if Danny and Nia had a more sincere and honest approach, acknowledged his wrongdoing publicly, and came to the table willing to have conversation rather than be blinded with anger toward Janet and Jason while constantly denying the issue at hand we could’ve avoided another season of talking about Danny’s drinking problem. A real Streisand effect if you ask me!
