6 years ago today, we lost BrawlBRSTMs5 and moved to BRSTMs3. We had coincidentally planned to shut down the site today, effectively halting all uploads of extensions. However, the channel happened to be terminated today.
5 years ago today #StarOcean First Departure R first launched on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch!
Tell us your most memorable moments from the first title in the series.
@ArcDargo Yes, and I know he also wanted to do an arrange album. He was sort of able to do it for 2 songs from Dark Dawn, and he was able to do the Golden Sun 2 medley for Smash Bros Brawl/X.
This person clearly wasn't around for the purge when Smash Ultimate's music leaked early. Nintendo does not play around, but everyone back then got off easy by only losing YouTube channels.
Nintendo has filed a lawsuit against an individual who repeatedly streamed pirated Nintendo Switch games before they were released, taunted Nintendo's legal team when they asked him to stop, and even solicited viewers for donations

@itssamac@NintendoAmerica With all the years I've spent managing video game music channels and uploads, you'd be surprised how many people have high expectations (or none) of certain composers before listening to new stuff. Open mindedness is always important when it comes to fresh media (you have it).
@NintendoAmerica Motoi Sakuraba in Kid Icarus Uprising is a good example. People might think he sounds too samey, but the music direction produced a great final product. If you don't know which tracks are his, you may be pleasantly surprised after listening and finding out via your own research.
@NintendoAmerica For those that don't understand or disagree, how many times have you seen a composer listed for a game's soundtrack and cringed based on their past work without even hearing the finished product? It's the same reason Nintendo and others keep credits secret until the staff roll.
@onion_mu@NintendoAmerica It is a problem not only with Nintendo, but other studios that don't do individual track credits. Namco Tales Studio is a huge culprit, though it is mostly easy to understand which tracks Sakuraba composed if you listen to enough of his music.
@onion_mu@NintendoAmerica I'm glad you understand where I was coming from! A lot of people seemed to be concerned with songs individually rather than game immersion, and this leads to shitting on composers that sound similar across games even though they're doing their actual job well.
@PeterReidJones This is a good faith response with a reasonable point of view. One thing I wouldn't be surprised is Nintendo listing all of the composers for a game as a whole, but omitting things on the individual track level. Namco Tales Studio is notorious for this.
@zantetsukenn_ It's a good start for them, and others will follow suit in due time. I wouldn't be surprised to see soundtrack releasing with looping support on other streaming platforms.
