The two most discouraging things I’ve heard today is that Bob Stebbins may be in the lead for SEC Chair AND this 👇: Kevin Warsh in the lead for Treasury Secretary.
I can’t think of a worse combined pick for those two positions.
How tf did we go from exciting news with Scott Bessent, Bill Haggerty or @howardlutnick as Treasury Secretary to Kevin Warsh?
Lutnick at Commerce is great and the right choice (unless Warsh is the Treasury Secretary - then it should’ve been Lutnick).
Bessent seemed to be the first choice of @realDonaldTrump. Please, stick with it or go with @BrianBrooksUS as Treasury Secretary.
@sebat100@CherryEmpress21 Bingo, I read it the same way. Basically, it looks like the SEC will have some time to cure the default before they have to grovel.
@freddyriz@TheOriginalAxis@EleanorTerrett@SECGov Was it just cut-and-paste language, or did she specifically choose to use it for the SEC? If 12.1 gives her the authority to decide what to do if the deadline is missed, perhaps she already signaled what she will do by saying 'will be'.

For 22 years I’ve had the honor of representing working families in MA devastated by cancer against some of the biggest corporations in the world.

I have the honor of representing the poor and middle class (what’s left of it) when I debate @ewarren in order for the voters of MA to decide who should go to the U.S. Senate to represent them.

@luke_p123@FransZoveel@Marc_Fagel@DefendDark As @Marc_Fagel said - "Whether XRP is inherently a security was not a legal claim in the case, and thus is not the holding of the court."
The judgement from last year that I was referring to was about the programmatic sales by Ripple, and Marc answered my question.
@luke_p123@Marc_Fagel@DefendDark Thanks for the reply, but no one in this thread was saying that they believe that xrp's non-security status is being challenged, and you just repeated what @Marc_Fagel said, so please read a discussion before insulting.
@X__Anderson Fair enough, but as far as we know, the SEC also no longer considers xrp itself to be a security, so the logic of approval for the eth etf should also apply to xrp. I guess they could surprise us in a couple weeks when the substance of the appeal is submitted.
@DrewV2323@EleanorTerrett@bitwise My take is that the looming uncertainty of SEC appeal next week has people cautious, also the broader crypto pullback over the last couple of days.
