@middle_class_us Not to mention interest rates were higher back then, and a lot of people operated on single income households, whereas today, it's very common for people to have dual income households.

Let's not sit here and pretend that just because prices were lower means they had it easier.

@middle_class_us Except they did struggle. For example, In 1985, Stuff was cheaper, but paychecks were smaller. Minimum wage was $3.35, median income ~$23K. People bought houses and had kids in their 20s, going broke faster.

It's literally a different time, same grind.
