Twitter should allow italics (but not bold). In general, italics are a crutch that shouldn't be indulged by competent writers, but in this format I find myself often resorting to the even worse option of profanity to make a point.

NBC just did a revealing segment on #PaulPelosi that put the cops and Pelosi in a bad light. NBC then deleted it, supposedly because it “doesn’t meet our standards.” But what standards? Was the reporting untrue, or did it fall short because it contradicted the approved narrative?
