purely anecdotal but i SWEAR the drivers around my way have gotten more distracted and reckless since covid, sailing though crossings, taking bizarre risks. idk if there’s a new benchmark of selfishness or we’re just adjusting to a whole society quietly afflicted by brain damage
@fridahalo Anecdotally almost all of the mask-required events we provide purifiers for sell out completely. There's huge demand for this and people are WAITING for artists and venues to require masks. For every person who looks at you "crazy," there are so many who are grateful.

Du Pont begins commercial production of nylon toothbrush bristles, 1938. It wasn't until World War II that the concept of brushing teeth really caught on in the U.S.
Pffft. My brokerage is loaning me money, but they claim it's not on margin, and isn't a loan (I mean, thanks for not charging me interest...). It's 'supported by my balances'. BS, if everything hits I owe them money == a loan, regardless of your fancy wording.
Why did the LAPD remove this use of force file from public view?
Three months ago it was available after this lying cop got caught illegally detaining an activist. @WhosThatCop exposed these documents, and then the LAPD removed them.
This cop illegally detained me bc he didn't like what I said, then cited me for "spitting on the sidewalk" which isn't illegal.
He has a violent history the public deserves to know about. @KarenBassLA & @ElectHydee effortfully protect thugs like him from public accountability.
All you morons paid hundreds of dollars to get the stupid treason shoes and the only person who got a pair was a Russian CEO lol. He literally chooses Russia over you every single time
ban devices that have little LEDs on them everywhere that I can't turn off.
I know if looks cool in the store, but *please* i'm trying to go to sleep and I just can't stand how my monitor has a blinking LED that I can't turn off! why!?
"...They did not mean to make it impossible for an overweight person to run for high political office. All they were trying to do is to make TV into a vast and unsleeping #money machine. That they destroyed substantive political discourse in the process does not concern them."
"The #radicals who have changed the nature of #politics in America are #entrepreneurs in dark suits and grey ties who manage the large #television industry in America. They did not mean to turn political discourse into a form of #entertainment. ... "

What I think is most interesting, is that our solar system has a couple 100 other stars that formed with the same chemical abundances that we have. We're a little rare, 1% of most solar systems. Tracking these down would be fun if we had FTL.

@BillyBu38155902@BrianRoemmele A way to think about it:
If you scale (1"==1 AU), the Sun's diameter is about 0.25 mm - a very fine mechanical pencil lead. And Alpha Centauri (closest big thing we could hit) is 4.5 miles away. ~10' is where things start being really influenced by the Sun's gravity.
@BillyBu38155902@BrianRoemmele And, not that chaotic outside of the central torus of the accretion disk around the SMB. By volume, our galaxy (most galaxies) is well over 99.99% empty space. Hitting things is the very, very rare exception. Now a grav pull out of orbit?
