@purplleviolett@rasalistair It can be both, you know? No need to be an asshole when somebody examines the thematic meaning of a scene for a movie already heavily laden with themes of psychology and therapy.
@TannerT27 The Cap’n Clark still life isn’t just misremembering Clark, it’s exaggerating some form of abuse he may have committed against his wife, ALONG with his general bad habits, and refusal to accept his actions as his own.
@TannerT27 One thing I began to pick up on is that Clark more than likely did something to warrant legal intervention as well. Forced out of the house, going to therapy sessions he barely seems to care about, and peeps in his old home while paying for it from afar in the dark.
@ateotbray I genuinely can’t see anybody else pulling this off QUITE like Chiwitel. The way he ties Clark together as a deranged lunatic and also a pitiable asshole is extremely well done.
Kane being interviewed asked about gen AI during an interview for the film basically confirmed for me that the AI readings ppl have had for the film are 100% intentional
@Srirachachau@Monstermash042 I think we can all agree that the he earned this after Smiley. Like even if he wasn’t generational talent, he deserves compensation after that
@44x900@Voidhoot@CosmonautMarcus I personally think it works for Odin. He is a terrible person, but he uses humor and irony to come off as disarming. He does it so that you let your guard down, and if that doesn’t work, he can just harass you or have you killed instead. He’s very smarmy.
@LazyNick5 Warframe has a similar concept with its void. We know the void has always existed simultaneously with our reality, but it has things from the past, future, and present.
Time being shown to be non-linear is always a mindfuck and I love the way it was handled in the backrooms.
@snetzel3 Unfortunately, even with the big ass monster, the story has still flown 50 stories above a bunch of people’s heads so I think it was warranted.
@_Mikopath_ I saw that as well, very funny reference. Seems like everything Kane is working on has something to do with memories and those who are being forgotten.
@PeachieRad Even when she tries to fight back, escaping the pirate, she ends up right where she started, stuck in a room, listening to someone vent and being helpless to do anything but listen and observe.
@PeachieRad I saw them represent too sides of the same coin when it came to mental struggles. Mania and Depression. Clark rails against everything, is erratic and enraged at perceived slights while Mary is reserved and almost always letting things happen.
