#breadoverbombs Multinational Music Based Charity Organization, Providing Emergency Food To People In Crisis Since 2013. A 501(c)(3) Registered Charity.
‼️ If disability cuts go ahead, nearly HALF A MILLION people will be pushed into severe hardship and at risk of needing a food bank.
But this isn't a done deal. If enough MPs vote against it, we can stop this bill becoming law.

🚨 Due to the City of LA's overspending & budget cuts, the Rapid Response SENIOR MEALS Program will be ending on Aug 31, 2024 - affecting 5,400+ seniors.
There was an effort to transfer $ from the Liability Claims account to fund Senior Meals but that got sent back to Committee.
Can you guess what happens when you give kids food stamps?

New data from @EndChildPoverty shows 4.2 million children in the UK (29%) are growing up in poverty. 71% come from a working household.
Local authorities with the highest levels of child poverty:
Tower Hamlets 47.5%
Birmingham 46.4%
Manchester 44.7%
Sandwell 44.6%
Newham 43.7%
Most households reporting severe #foodinsecurity (skipping meals/cutting back on food) don't use a food bank. @TrussellTrust figures represent the "very tip of the iceberg".
We're facing a policy-driven public health calamity. #CashFirst@BigIssue

As ever Audrey Flannagan of @GlasgowSEFBank tells it how it is. Like the words of so many food bank managers and volunteers up and down the country her testimony tells us much more than statistics ever could #CashFirst@TrussellScot@IFAN_UK
This is my 6th year at @FactCheck and every winter England’s NHS has been in crisis.
So when I started looking at the latest stats I was expecting to do a story about history repeating itself.
But it’s not repeating. 2022 was *so* much worse.
I can prove it in one graph.🧵
“There is nothing perfect about food poverty, there is nothing perfect about supermarket workers relying on food banks, there is nothing perfect about people being made to be grateful for the meagre crumbs given to them – we need a right to food, now.” https://t.co/kCoy2EGxpf
It’s vital that the myth that surplus food redistribution solves poverty needs to busted. Adding fridges/freezers to the equation further entrenches a charitable food aid response. This funding could go directly to people in cash so they don’t need food aid #CashFirst@IFAN_UK
The presence of charities in society is not a sign of a healthy society. It's a sign of a society that's failing its members.
Charities should be rare and focused on those few falling through universal systems, not common and utilized as a replacement for a torn social contract.
