Prior to his death he released a video about how he was treated poorly by his former label, having his creativity restricted, and his album repeatedly delayed which ultimately led him to go independent in the last months of his life… that context matters. RIP, Oliver.

We only got to meet each other once but our interaction just reinforced the thought that there should be more people like him in the world.

He was a genuinely funny & kind human being, did not take himself too seriously & pushed boundaries as an artist. I always found everything he did to be very inspiring through how unique his art was (especially his music videos). We need more people taking risks & unafraid to be different.

I forgot to post this video but our green rooms were next to each other at a festival in Arizona. Oliver decided to pretend that the glass was soundproof and we made a whole bit around it before we rode over & watched his set. Hopefully this clip brings a smile to you even though he’s gone.
