When you think of "quiet luxury," you're thinking of The Row.
They never advertise. They barely do press. But they're your favorite fashionista's favorite label.
This is the story of two mogul designers who silenced critics and created one of the most coveted brands on earth:๐ชก

Everybody in this space is familiar with the feeling that things are not as they should be. From not getting the engagement, to not being seen enough, to being literally ignored, that youโre not successful enough, youโre not in that gallery or exhibition.
A chronic dissatisfaction that makes you look outwards with envy and inwards with disappointment.
Social media makes the feeling of constant disappointment worse by reminding you that aiming for anything less than your dream job is failure, you need to have amazing experiences constantly, be conventionally attractive, have a lot of friends, and find your soulmate, and that others have all of these things and are truly happy. See how screwed up that is?
And of course, a vast array of โadvisorsโ imply that itโs all your fault for not working hard enough. Look to put it simply, it is mostly out of your control. But one of the greatest predictors in psychology and psychiatry to determine how happy you are, how easily you connect and share good feelings and how good you are at dealing with hardship, and antidote so to speak isโฆ GRATITUDE.
I know it sounds like another bloody hashtag trend on social media, but it is wired in our biology, backed by medical knowledge and studies.
Gratitude stimulates the pathways in your brain involved in feelings of reward, forming social bonds and interpreting otherโs intentions. It also makes it easier to save and retrieve positive memories.
More importantly, gratitude directly counteracts a myriad of negative feelings and traits, from narcissism, envy, social comparison, cynicism and materialism. Which would affect any sane human being when being bombarded by subliminal messaging that youโre just not good enough.
Hereโs the kicker. People who are grateful for no matter what the hell for, tend to be happier and more satisfied. The key is the feeling of gratitude, no mater the source. It can be from your family, partner or even the cute little dog called chonky.
With that the tendency to suffer from burnout and depression flies out the window. You will sleep better, connect with people better, the environment transforms.
Gratitude in a way makes it less likely that you will fall into one of the psychological traps social media has set for you.
Gratitude reduces the tendency to forget and downplay positive events. If you work hard and long for something, actually getting it can feel empty, you can find yourself back where you emotionally started leading you to continuously chase the next big thing in this space, as we all know this space moves at lightning speeds, looking for the next satisfaction, instead of more importantly being satisfied with yourself.
So stay grounded, focus on the small wins in this space and out. There is no point for success if it keeps you emotionally empty on the inside.
