UPDATE: (October 8, 2025, 5:47 p.m.) Springdale RCMP advises that the shelter in place advisory for the community of South Brook remains active.

Residents are asked to remain indoors, with windows and doors closed and locked. Residents can expect an increased police presence in the area.

For police safety, RCMP NL requests that the public please do not share any information or photos about the location of police as they continue to do their work.
