Ryan Timms' car owner Shane Liebig had some strong words for race winner Aaron Reutzel after tonight.
"Aaron's absolutely classless about it but that's just his M.O... I look forward to seeing him in Eldora and remind him that he's running for a point title, and I'm not."

A basic concept race fans don't understand: Whoever foots the bills calls the shots of who the driver is. Always been that way, always will be. If you're unhappy with who is or isn't in a car or where they do or don't race, open your wallet and chip in.
Whatever decisions are made by a track or sanction body aren’t going to be perfect by any means. We, mostly try to make the best decisions possible for all parties involved. I’ve seen people bashing tracks for canceling days before an event. The tracks know their facility, etc. they know what they can handle and cannot. Price of everything has increased lately. If we can help save people money here and there it’s a good thing.
Granted, we’ve had some in our industry that doesn’t look at it that way but I’ve learned over the years (working under some wonderful people & what I would consider mentors) that you’re not going to make everyone happy. If you can make the majority happy, then that’s a start. I’ve been in this business / what has become an industry for a long time. I’ve been working in this industry longer than 15 of the top-20 between the two national tours’ points have been on this planet. I don’t take that lightly because they are our stars and they put on the show.
I’ll always look back at my record books and see what prices were back 25+ years ago. $30 pit pass for a $3,000 show, $35 for a $5,000 show. Some are still that way and now that promoters increase to $40/$45 people fuss over a $10 increase in a 20 year period. Unreal.
I worry about the cost of fuel and diesel for our teams. I worry about the cost for the race fans. I think of ways we can all do better. I don’t take this lightly. I’ve not been here to make a quick buck nor will I do that. I have beat myself up since last weekend because we drug our teams to Michigan for what we thought would be three shows based on the forecast 24 hours before the first show and then going into the first show the forecast drastically changed.
I’m not saying all of this to toot my own horn because that’s not what I’m about.
Just remember, this started out as a sport. It was a pastime for all of us to enjoy. Now it’s a business and I truly hate the way our business model of the sport has went. I have no allegiance to anyone except the business I represent which is our tracks, our teams and drivers and our loyal fans. That’s who I will cater to.
I’ll always remember what a wise man once told me, “if it was easy, everyone would be doing it. You could hand every person a $100 bill coming through the gate and some would ask for 2 $50’s.”
Before you bash anyone online, take a moment to put yourself in their shoes, pick up the phone to call them to hear their side of the story, don’t just assume the worst. Be open minded.
We can’t blame weather apps, we can’t blame social media or anything else. We have to fully put the blame on ourselves and each individual for the actions we / they cause. It’s easy to blame someone else for your actions.
I am seriously looking at what direction I go with in the start of next season. I’m not mad or aggravated when I make this post. I’m just tired. I’m tired of fighting.
We can all do better as individuals, in life and as citizens in this sport.
Federal inflation data confirms what you may have been feeling already: Groceries are getting more expensive. Unfortunately, things may be about to get a whole lot worse, economists are warning.

@HordRaceWatcher Be glad you don't handle social media for the Grove. Lots of keyboard promoters. Instead of opening their mouth, maybe they should open their wallet and help cover insurance on iffy nights. Tracks gotta make money to stay open.
RANDOM THOUGHTS!
In 20yrs of fixing crashed race cars ive had 2 that i have thrown away, couldn’t fix them cause the damage was too deep
In the last 5yrs i have thrown away 5 or 6 cars a year so call it 25 cars. Now im not a fucking rocket scientist but that is a pretty good spike in a graph. The damage is getting too deep in the cars for me to fix. Guess what else is sitting deep in the car
Im not sure the years all this took place but we have mandated 095 wall bottom rails, 083 wall hip rails, cage safety bars, we have switched from 1” lower seat bars to 1 1/4” seat bars. Now we couple that with stronger (stiffer) seats, moulded foam around the driver, ratchet strap seat belts and im not sure its all working together. Obviously its not all working together when u think last year we had like a dozen high profile drivers injured at the same time. Never in history do recall that scenario and we are supposedly the safest we’ve ever been???
When the car gets stiffer the loads transfer deeper, when the seat gets stiffer the body cant bend it to decelerate, when the seats are molded to fit the body can’t wiggle in the seat, when the belts are ratchet tight the body can’t slide down in the seat just a little to give or make room. When the body cant move left to right because it is contained within a tube the force it all directed in an up/down motion within the tube
If the seat mounts compress 1/2” in a downward hit (sure it absorbs the initial blow) but does the system coil bind at the exact moment of peak g load in the body? Now if the seats move and the belts loosen what happens on the rebound? Does the body slam back up into the shoulder harness again?
You ever see a mean dog at the end of his chain pulling trying to get you. Alot of force but very comfortable to the dog. Now switch that to the dog running after u and reaching the end of the chain. Its rather violent and snaps the dog backwards with high forces on his body. Does the same thing happen when the body comes back in contact with the loose shoulder harness?
Does a 1” lower seat bar have just enough give and absorb as opposed to 1 1/4” bar? Are the seat mounting points getting too high in the car at the back letting the seat collapse. Hell i don’t know. And remember there will always be what i call the 20yr crash that nothing will fix
I encourage seat belt manufacturers, seat builders, car builders, sanctioning bodies, drivers, drivers that crashed in the 90’s and the 2020’s, insert makers, helmet makers, floating seat system manufacturers, and anyone with general common sense to respond below ⬇️
