She was initially given a six-month suspended prison sentence and a €3,000 fine, but she appealed the sentence, with the new verdict expected later today.

🇬🇧 Shocking 219-page report reveals scale of UK grooming gangs scandal

Independent MP Rupert Lowe has released a devastating independent inquiry exposing the systematic sexual exploitation of at least 250,000 young, mostly white British girls by predominantly Pakistani Muslim grooming gangs over the last decades.

Almost 19,000 children were identified as sexual exploitation victims in England in one year alone.

Many victims were as young as 11.

The overwhelming majority of the rape gang networks consisted entirely of men from Muslim backgrounds — predominantly of Pakistani heritage, although smaller groups from Somali, Iranian, Syrian, Turkish, and other Muslim origins were also involved.

The crimes occurred in at least 149 local authority districts (nearly 40% of the UK), involving repeated rape, gang rape, trafficking, torture, and forced conversions.

In each of these areas, the same tactics were used.

Girls as young as 11 were targeted with gifts, alcohol, and drugs, collected in taxis from school gates, care homes, and streets, and taken to houses, flats, restaurants, and hotels, and then raped repeatedly by groups of men, passed between perpetrators, trafficked across county lines, and in many cases impregnated or forced into abortions.

Most victims endured violence, were filmed for blackmail, or were told they were “white trash” or “kuffar” who deserved punishment.

Some girls were even trafficked to the Middle East, where they would endure Islamic marriage.

The report highlights decades of institutional failure and reluctance by authorities to address the ethnic and religious patterns behind these crimes.

Baháʼí Couple Behzad Yazdani and Romina Khazali Detained for More Than 70 Days without Charge in Adelabad Prison

It was learned on 10 June 2026 that more than 70 days after their arrests, Baha’i couple, Mr. Behzad Yazdani, a translator and editor, and his wife Mrs. Romina Khazali, a painter, remain in detention in Shiraz's Adelabad Prison without charge.

Despite the passage of more than 70 days, authorities have not disclosed the charges against Behzad Yazdani and Romina Khazali, nor have they accepted bail for their release. Both remain imprisoned without access to legal counsel.

Concerns have grown particularly over the health condition of Romina Khazali. She has been denied access to necessary medications and adequate medical examinations throughout her detention. As a result, her chronic back pain and stomach complications, which previously required surgery and ongoing medical care, have worsened. Earlier reports indicated that she also suffers from severe migraines, glaucoma, and gastrointestinal disorders, while medications sent by her family have not been delivered to her.

A gastrointestinal virus had spread among inmates in the ward where Mrs. Khazali is being held at Adelabad Prison, causing severe vomiting and diarrhea among prisoners. The lack of medical facilities and the absence of adequate healthcare have exacerbated the situation for sick inmates.

IRGC intelligence agents arrested Behzad Yazdani at his home in Shiraz on 28 March 2026. The following day, security agents returned to the family residence and conducted a four-hour search, confiscating all electronic devices and a number of personal belongings belonging to family members and even guests who were present at the home.

During the operation, the couple's two teenage children were interrogated, causing them to suffer anxiety attacks. Security agents subsequently arrested Mrs. Romina Khazali in front of her children and her elderly parents.

The confiscation of laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices has seriously disrupted the education of the couple's children, who relied partly on online learning. In addition to coping with the simultaneous detention of both parents, the two teenagers have now assumed responsibility for caring for their elderly grandparents. Before her arrest, Mrs. Khazali had been the primary caregiver for her aging parents, and her absence has further complicated their physical and emotional well-being.
