So a certain strong willed daughter of mine has an uninformed HS science teacher talking crap about farmers eco destructive ways in class…she armed herself with agronomic info and taught this teacher some farm science. Teacher=🤯 and apologized. Stand up for yourself with facts!
@jrtorry@HighlandWayne@DCHighlander Made their VR seeding script as normal and then created boundaries of their logo with a 0 seeds/ac rate within the boundaries. Was my first time trying it, got some work to do but a pretty neat start.
Seeing some good looking #wintercanola in West Grey today hitting that 10-20% flower stage. There has been some great progression since I was last in these fields a few days ago #OntAg
A heavy pressure of volunteer soybeans coming up in this recently planted winter wheat field. The hail did a number on this soybean field a few weeks back.
White mould is starting to appear more in soybean fields. Wilting leaves are not always an immediate indicator- Be sure to root around in the lower canopy (especially in lodged areas of the field) to see what could be going on under there.
Substantial rain fall across the region. rivers are over their https://t.co/nvyh5F1sLo will take a good 5 to 7 days of drying conditions before we’re back on the land. Amazing how we go from an early season to a late season so quickly. #ontag#plant21
Saturday activity #SWAT today with @18SullivanMike on Aberdeen Line. First time in the passenger seat seeing things happen. Thanks to @BrennaVyn for mapping tips + @Crop2r and @PayneFarms + @grantcampbell15 for the dry ground
It’s that time of the growing season to be out in your white bean fields checking for pre-harvest application timing. I’ve been seeing some variability in maturity, make sure you’re aiming for an average of 90% maturity before starting burndowns. @DCHighlander
A great article by @nozzle_guy from https://t.co/1s7EFDztRT on spraying in the wind! 💨 I list main points in thread but be sure to head over and read article in full for more details! https://t.co/I7l7MF71Md #spray2020#plant2020#seed2020
Happy #CdnAgDay 🌾 Love this shot of my grandpa waiting for a ride on the buddy seat. Farming runs deep, this industry has so much knowledge and passion to give, and I keep pinching myself that I get to be part of it 💛
Agronomist rant: this meeting season, be on the lookout for significant differences when companies show you differences in yield or quality between products or when using a product vs not using it. Significant difference in a chart is typically displayed by ‘letter grades’... 1/4
