@JoshBoersen@AdamJPfeffer We didn’t roll our beans that’ll get billed and pulled, after planting, and I’m starting to think we should have. Thought process was why roll to pack the stones when we’ll be ripping the stones up anyways but needless to say, a rain would be welcome around here.
@JoshBoersen@AdamJPfeffer We did the same. Beans that were planted nicely into moisture 2 days ago are looking like they’re in dry soil now. Weird part is 3” down, theres lots of moisture but doesn’t seem to be moving up through the soil like other years. I’m at 2 1/4” currently & wondering about deeper
@JoshBoersen I wish I could be that organized to be chasing the air seeder that closely. Last week I was just hoping I’d get the beans sprayed before they were coming out of the ground!
Planting trees and helping dad clean his truck out. Successful day still getting some planting done while on a rain delay and teaching the little guy early the importance of tree planting.
@3furrowsjd@Milk_the_cow4 If you can stay in the strip 100% of the time, there shouldn’t be, unless it’s stripped on poor conditions. Get out of the strip on those headlands and DeltaForce punches it deep where you want it. Couldn’t get that with old springs
@3furrowsjd@Milk_the_cow4 I kinda miss the simplicity of our old Deere system pre-precision upgrade, but I am quite sure we’ve seen improvements in planting quality with precision vSets and DeltaForce, especially with the variability of strip-tilling.
@kowalchukfarms1 Ok, turns out I’m not 100% CCW like I claimed. Outside round on the farm I’m at has a hill too steep to climb in the sprayer, so I’ve gotta do it backwards and feel like I’m on a rollercoaster dropping in on a 20% plunge
@Dungannon_Dan Seems like a really Monday-ish Friday. Finally nice enough weather to spray wheat. Roll sensor is likely shot on the sprayer & closest part is in Indiana on the Friday of a long weekend. Road trip maybe?
@BaumanFb Yup, just picked up more dawn yesterday. I only put it in the last tank before switching for wheat but still made life easier cleaning filters.
Does anyone know if the Pest Manager App is still supported? Recognizing the work put into the crop protection hub, I still like the app style along with ID portion of the app. Notice there’s newer herbicides not included currently so wondering the status @cowbrough#ontag
Well that’s a new one! I’ve had to lift the planter for rocks, but never for coyote pups. Mom was keeping a close eye on me and was quick to visit them once I’d moved on past the pups.
@BessDbess@giverfnspit I’m not a big fan of them in general, but I’m not about to kill some innocent and defenseless baby animals. If I meet them while deer or turkey hunting when they’re full grown, that’s a different story, but they get a fighting chance
@brent_scamehorn We either sling bags or dump seed boxes straight into the planter. Only opportunity to get better coating is when we dump bags into a box and add the 80/20 as we put it into the box
Any other Precision Planting folks out there find that medium flat corn seed is just miles better than anything else? I’ll run 99.8% singulation at 5 mph. Switch hybrids, & drop to 98.5% or less unless I slow down while also having to constantly play with vacuum numbers. Just me?
@giverfnspit I’ve went coyote hunting before with no luck. I’d be better to carry a gun in the tractor. Coyotes eat deer, turkey, and ground hog, which destroy crops, but also kill sheep, so as both a hunter and farmer, I’m torn whether I like them or hate them.
