Nearly any fool can govern a people, it takes little effort to keep status quo.
Leadership takes risk, and accepts there will be failure along the way.
You won't be able to blame anyone else for it. You just need to continue on.
The mob won't like it, but is the mob right?
Iβm looking to join a farmer golf tournament this summer. Mediocre at best but I can offer some laughs and good conversation. Let me know if you need a partner. β³οΈ
@14Ram@AdamJPfeffer Dad is already grumbling this morning about beans being in dry soil a couple days after planting.
They were around the 2" mark and I know they were in when I was there.

@14Ram@AdamJPfeffer Right or wrong we decide to go a little early to catch better soil moisture conditions.
We've been caught where its realistically too dry to plant at optimum depth, and I hate sinking the damn things.
They aren't as bad as it may seem to change them.
I've been thinking about getting a small set to swap out when we switch.
I just don't recall if we need to change the seed sensor or not.
Thought the smaller ones may give better control for corn and possibly canola if we go down that road.
@calhorst5@DeanPat57613010 In the days of bias ply tires and high air pressure, following the rows would be essential.
Modern tires are not your granddaddy's tires.
Do you need to be sensible, yes.
Do you need to follow the rows if your buns are big, pressure low and rig not weighed up like a tank, no.
@KoreyPeters 30 inch canola Korey?
I was talking with another farmer in our area and he says he's had good luck with that vs 15's.
I definitely like the idea of better seed placement!
I had a love/hate relationship with PP downforce on a case machine.
It works good, but pulling the guage wheels vs pushing them makes a very big difference when it comes to Margin IMO.
Unless you are quite damp, I always carried more then the monitor recommended and got along well.
@kevinki16180099 We were on the dryer side to begin with before the rain.
We had between 15 and 20 mm overall.
It's just about right, but with a long dry stretch in the forecast we want to wrap this up while the soil moisture is good.
@Shawridgefarm I have one it came up with a supposed answer for but both the techs at my local dealer can't even find info on... now to wonder if it is right or not??
@RSHFarms I get your point, but lately these Kids have been touring thru my crops and lighting the tires up to the point it looks like a top coat of tar...
It does get old...
@farmerschneck I like the Aulari ones.
I used to think they we're expensive, but what isn't anymore?
The vaderstad ones on our planter stand up extremely well and are nice and compact, but it would be a challenge to mount them the way they are designed I think.
