@miklasz I could buy the scapegoating argument if this didn’t already happen to Willson in Chicago. The question is why didn’t the FO do their research before signing him? If they did, and decided to sign him to be the everyday catcher anyways, that may be worse.

@miklasz I’d be interested in a look at Contreras and his effect on the pitching staff vs. Knizner. Cubs went to mostly having him DH by the end of last season and were happy to let him walk. Also, nobody wanted him at the deadline when he was clearly available. Might be something there.

Sports physicals will be offered at the Winnebago Mercy clinic August 4th from 6-7:30pm. Cost is $25 with checks made out to Winnebago High School. Students need updated physicals and be registered through Infinite Campus in order to participate in practices on August 8th.
