@whsource Ever think obesity could be a personal solution?
It’s often a marker of the real problem buried in time, concealed by shame & secrecy.
It’s generational because we’re not dealing with our stories - parenting & passing on our shame to our kids.
Making a healthy lifestyle sustainable is about 5 things:
1. Know your workout style.
2. Strive for 5 (30 min) workouts a week.
3. Fill 1/2 your plate with veggies
4. Sleep 7+ hours nightly
5. Seek accountability
Comparing your body to someone else's damages your mental health, not theirs.
Skimping on sleep or delaying going to bed because it's a place you feel you have control, will drain you from giving your best to yourself and your loved ones.
@GregoryMcKeown Funny how this applies to living fit & healthy.
Most believe you have to crush, starve, and deprive yourself in that extra mile.
In reality, if you just walked slowly through that first mile, being mindful of the choices you make, sleep more, & become more self aware... 👌
As the Texas mask mandate rolls back on Wednesday, March 10th, I wanted to share with you how Avenu will move forward.
Here’s how we’re approaching it:

@fiona_bull Should partner up with local fitness facilities, personal trainers, etc to start Mental Health campaigns inside their gyms.
The more I've spoke up about my past trauma and shown how "the body keeps the score" the more people listen.
Shared personal stories are the best
Interesting. Seems to me that we have missed a trick. I know of many coms campaigns on PA that promote other benefits but I know few that clearly message around mental health. Correct me if I’m wrong & share examples. Else this calls 4 rethinking / broadening PA comms campaigns
@Inc@HilzFuld Apply this to taking care of your health, fitness, waistline:
Resilience = Consistency is 🔑
Patients = with food, wt loss & training
Ignoring the box = stick with a plan for 6 months
Flexibility = the journey isn’t perfect
Pivot = only after consist for 6 mths
The most important step you can take with your workouts right now is to train with tomorrow in mind.

Heard you saying Yoga & Running are great physical outlets for 5s. 1000% agree
Is there a resource that talks about specific routines for each type?
I’m a fitness professional & this insight would be 🙏🙏🙏
