Hopeful that today’s hard fought Senate action is a first step in taking the climate crisis seriously and investing in clean energy and conservation to deliver a healthier future for all of us.
Protecting and restoring nature is one of America's smartest investments.🌱
A TNC-commissioned report reveals that conservation funding delivers a $4 return on every federal dollar spent, fueling local economies, our health and public safety. See more:https://t.co/ZaD0kTPO6v
Big news! A proposal to sell off public lands in the U.S. has been defeated! Over the past month, the TNC community stepped up to stop this proposal, sending more than 100,000 messages to Congress to urge leaders to keep public lands in public hands.
National parks, forests and other publicly-owned conservation lands keep Americans healthy, our air and water clean and our economy strong. Thank you @RepGabeVasquez, @RepRyanZinke, @RepDebDingell & @CongMikeSimpson for your leadership to ensure public lands stay in public hands.
Terrific panel this morning at the 30th annual Stegner Symposium on wildfire and its air pollution impacts—a growing problem, particularly in the West.
We remain committed, as we have for decades, to advocating for and defending policies and funding that protect people and nature. Read our statement on recent discussions about U.S. government funding that conserves nature and takes action on climate.

I've had the honor of knowing David Brooks for years. I admire him and have been deeply moved, informed, inspired, and bettered by his books and talks.
He was a Republican when I met him. I don't know his party affiliation now. What I do know is he has always been a man of virtue, objective reasoning, pragmatism, wisdom, and invaluable insights.
What he states here is painful and true.
I will continue to fight to stop this awful reality undermining good governance and causing such awful impact on dedicated public servants who are doing vital work for our safety, strength and national security.
NBC News has confirmed reporting by The New York Times that FBI personnel have been given a survey asking them questions about their participation in January 6 cases. And also that the head of the New York field office sent a message to colleagues saying: “Today, we find ourselves in the middle of a battle of our own, as good people are being walked out of the F.B.I. and others are being targeted because they did their jobs in accordance with the law and FBI policy.”
"These land protection projects help support the military community while also preserving off-base habitats for threatened and endangered species." - says @JenMorrisNature about the bipartisan Incentivizing REPI Sales Act. https://t.co/Zs6abmcOOA
🌳 @nature_org was just awarded $102.5 million from the @USDA to ramp up conservation projects in 6 states! This funding will protect grasslands and western landscapes, keep streams free flowing for fish and improve forest management.

Today marks 60 years since the Land and Water Conservation Fund — one of America’s most important conservation tools — became law. #LWCF has protected natural spaces, strengthened national parks, restored wildlife habitats and created outdoor spaces that everyone can enjoy.
We are thrilled to share that the @NatlParkService officially designated The Nature Conservancy's Independence Creek Preserve in West Texas as the nation’s newest national natural landmark!

The Supreme Court decision to overturn the #ChevronDoctrine could present challenges for implementing and enforcing laws that support nature. We will continue to work at all levels of government to protect people and our planet. See more: https://t.co/P4EF7mA2bG
Another great example of how funding from the federal Inflation Reduction Act is being used to conserve important natural resources across America, as well as how it is doing so in partnership with tribal leaders.
This is an important step to modernize and speed up the permitting and review process. This rule from the @WhiteHouse will spur clean energy, strengthen environmental protections AND deliver better outcomes for communities. We're excited to dig in further!

Big news! Congress just approved funding for our Washington Cascades LWCF project - a long term effort to protect checkerboard forest lands near Snoqualmie Pass. Thank you @PattyMurray@SenatorCantwell and @RepKimSchrier for your steadfast leadership.

We're making history by confronting the climate crisis, not denying it.
On my watch, we'll cut our carbon emissions in half – and conserve 30% of America's lands and waters – by 2030.
Wildfires are becoming more frequent and severe - and these trends are expected to get worse. One thing is clear: We need to return beneficial fire to our landscapes and secure long-term investments in wildfire resilience. 👇@bfrist's new @Forbes column.
