Any action that treats Trump as just like any other president, rather than the tyrant that he is, risks normalizing his tyranny. In my view, attending the State of the Union is the wrong approach for that reason.

Establishment Democrats are really good at distraction. The filibuster is an example. The SAVE Act, which would require birth certificates for voter registration, is dead due to the filibuster. Fellow candidate Julie Gonzales supports ending it.
