@BasedMikeLee At least someone answered. Try to get in touch with someone at the @USDOL Wage and Hour Division (Atlanta or Columbia). I’d be happy to get cussed out by them. I just want someone to answer the phone.
We are the ONLY candidate in this race with a plan to completely eliminate South Carolina's state income tax.
Your hard-earned money should stay in your pocket.
South Carolina STRONG.
A NOTE FROM FREEDOM FIGHTER DAVID HENRY LUCAS:
To the citizens of South Carolina,
My name is David Henry Lucas. Many people in this state know my name because of my case before the United States Supreme Court, Lucas v. South Carolina Coastal Council, a case that arose from a dispute over coastal regulations on the Isle of Palms and resulted in a landmark decision protecting the constitutional rights of private property owners across this nation.
When I brought that case, I did so knowing that the fight against the government would be long, expensive, and uncertain. I was able to pursue it only because I had the financial means to do so. Most citizens do not. Too often, individuals are forced into submission, not because they are wrong, but because they cannot afford to defend their rights against the power of the state.
I stood my ground because I could. But when that case was decided, the benefit did not belong to me alone. Millions of Americans gained stronger protection for their property and their liberty because one citizen was willing — and able — to fight.
Today, I see that same kind of fight in Rom Reddy.
Like my own case, his battle with the State of South Carolina over coastal regulations is not simply about one man’s property. It is about the principle that the government must not be allowed to overreach its authority at the expense of the people it serves. It is about whether citizens still have the right to stand up to the state and be heard.
Over the course of this controversy, I have come to know Rom personally. He is a successful businessman who has no need to seek public office for financial gain. In fact, by any reasonable measure, he could make far greater returns on his investments by remaining in private life than by entering politics.
Yet he has chosen a harder path.
He has chosen to put his time, his fortune, and his reputation on the line in order to challenge the growth of government, the abuse of regulatory power, and the corruption that too often follows when authority goes unchecked.
That kind of decision should sound familiar to every American.
It is exactly what our Founding Fathers did when they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to secure the freedom of this country. Many of them were ruined financially for doing so, but they acted because they believed that liberty was worth the cost.
Rom Reddy is showing that same spirit today.
South Carolina needs a governor who cannot be bought, cannot be intimidated, and does not owe his position to political insiders, just like President Trump. We need a governor who has already proven that he will stand against government overreach, even when the fight is difficult and the outcome uncertain.
For these reasons, and because I believe his character, independence, and courage are exactly what this state needs at this moment, I am proud to give my full and unequivocal endorsement to Rom Reddy for Governor of South Carolina.
Respectfully,
DHL
@KyleSeraphin@MeatEaterTV It’s clearly established law called the Open Fields Doctrine and all law enforcement abide by it. It doesn’t just apply to DNR. Did they leave that out of the FBI academy?
I’m running for Governor to stop the weaponization of government and to return money and power to you, the citizen.
This race comes down to two lanes.
In one lane:
Four career politicians. More than 50 years in government. The same system. The same promises. The same results.
In the other lane:
Just me. I’m not taking donations. I’m not seeking endorsements. I’ve bought companies, fixed them and sold them. I know how to get things done.
This campaign belongs to the people, not the political ruling class. If you’re ready for something different, join us.
Dude nothings off. They’re using a public platform to communicate directly with whom they believe has abducted their mother because that’s the only line of communication that’s been established. They’re not talking to you or anyone else. Let the experts handle the situation and stop sowing seeds of doubt and confusion.
@SaraGonzalesTX I think articulating your concern over AI in your initial post would have prevented rabid responses. Saying things without context lets everyone use their own imagination as to what you meant. I’m not being ugly by the way. I appreciate your commentary and what you’re doing.
SC seems to have always been a follower state. I look at states like FL and they’re leading the charge for conservative policies. I’d love to see us implement similar policies quickly and start leading conservative states. We don’t have bold ideas, property taxes are out of control, we’re way behind on no income taxes, the tax breaks given to major corporations need to be ended, energy prices are out control (probably from the failed VC Summer project), seems to be a lot of public corruption in the state.
@MINHxDYNASTY You should say it’s my money and I want it, that’s why. And if you can’t give me $10k, give me a cashiers check for my entire balance and close my account.
@GarandThumb1 The “rules of engagement” or policy and law enforcement training is based on case law established by the U.S. Supreme Court. The current case law on deadly force was established in Graham v. Connor, which created the objectively reasonable standard, aka the Graham Factors.
I would like to read your plan for reducing state income tax to 0%. Many conservative states, including Mississippi and Georgia, and other candidates for SC Governor are releasing their plans. SC has historically been a “follower” state, modeling legislation on other states, instead of leading the charge. I’d love to see SC elect bold leaders with bold plans, not just talking points. I can’t find any detailed plans on your website, just broad talking points. If I’ve missed them, I’ll gladly stand corrected.
@mattvanswol@Cernovich He was on duty, preforming his officials duties, and within agency policy as Secretary Noem has publicly stated. The DOJ will defend him. That won’t relieve the stress of the investigation, but at least it won’t cost him anything.
