Congratulations to the Blue Springs South High School baseball team on defeating Kickapoo 2 games to 1 in the Class 6 State Quarterfinals. The Jaguars fell by a score of 3-1 in Game One, won Game Two by a score of 4-1, and Game Three by a score of 18-2.

The Jaguars will play Rockhurst in the Class 6 State Semifinals at the Ozark Mountain Sports Complex in Ozark, MO on Friday, June 5 at 1 p.m. The Jaguars are the only public school to advance to the semifinals. The other teams competing are St. John Vianney High School and Christian Brothers College High School, both located in the St. Louis area.

This will be the Jags fifth Final Four appearance in program history, including winning the 2025 Class 6A State Baseball championship.

Over the weekend, Blue Springs South High School Head Baseball Coach Ben Baier was inducted into the Class of 2026 Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame!

Coach Baier has been coaching baseball at Blue Springs South since 1999, where he served as assistant coach until becoming the head coach in 2009. 

Baier holds the school record with 307 career wins as a head coach. His teams have won 10 district championships with four appearances in the Final Four (2014, 2018, 2022, 2025). Last spring, Baier led the Jaguars in a comeback to win the 2025 Missouri Class 6 State Championship.

Was on hold with @UPS for nearly an hour trying to find out what happened to a package I was supposed to receive. Finally gave up.

It shipped on 7/8. UPS lost it at their facility on 7/11, then “investigating” since 7/15.
