There is no better example of why targeted intervention from Congress is necessary. When you have schools and deep-pocketed supporters willing to look the other way on the glaring integrity threat of betting on your own team - and judges whose rulings effectively strip away our ability to stop them - only Congress can equip the @NCAA to apply this common sense rule to everyone fairly and consistently. The Protect College Sports Act would empower the NCAA to enforce rules including the gambling restrictions - it's needed now more than ever.
After a judge's ruling on Brendan Sorsby, there’s never been a better time for a college athlete to be a gambling addict.
This injunction is a loss for cfb. It's a win for gambling addiction. 1-800-BETAWAY.

Reaction from lawyer Tom Mars, a veteran of NCAA cases: "In 40 years as a lawyer, I've never been as shocked and surprised by a court ruling." That sums the reaction on the college sports landscape today.
I’d also complain about his suspension being against Abilene Christian and Oregon State but Tech’s entire schedule is basically alternating playing Abilene Christian and Oregon State.
There really aren’t any rules. You just go to court. If it fails, go to court again until a judge says you’re all set.
Want a 7th year?
Sure
Broke rules?
Ahhhh, it’s fine.
There AREN’T any rules.
@williampatteson NCAA rules:
Severe Penalties: Wagering on one's own team or sport at any school results in the permanent loss of collegiate eligibility. Wagering on other sports at other schools risks the loss of 50 percent of a season of eligibility. [1, 2]
I guess it doesn’t matter 🤷🏻♂️
Brendan Sorsby will be suspended for opening two games of Texas Tech's 2026 season, as this was the penalty he presented to the NCAA.
But, he's good to go for the rest of season.
Braydon Kersey heard from every school imaginable in the transfer portal. But when Tennessee reached out? Kersey asked to visit as soon as possible.
“Once I got on campus, it was always Tennessee,” Kersey said.

The best thing that came out of the Chapel Hill ll regionalal for Tennessee was getting Austin Knight as the new pitching coach. The more I have researched the more I believe the is an A+ hire. He did a great job at ECU.
