Blog dedicated to everything associated with beer in ancient Greece and Rome. Literary references. Archaeology. Modern homebrew & craft beer bric-a-brac.
@TaraNurin @lisagrimm Hi we don't know of any sources in the Greek world that say that; perhaps you mean Roman? We are not very familiar with Charlie's work tbh
@merryndineley @lisagrimm @TaraNurin Hi! We have collected most ancient Greek and Roman literary sources that mention beer on our blog, but you may also want to check out Max Nelson's book, the Barbarian's Beverage, as well as work by Patrick McGovern on ancient beer.
@tbsailors@MikeHessBrewing Some of these are year-round. They said they used to all be Latin names but no one could pronounce them, so their latest additions have been non-Latin 🤣. Nice to meet you too!
Great post by @SarahEBond with various topics of interest to #beerhistory and #archaeobeer fanatics. For more classically-themed beers and Classical beer history, check out our blog!
@SarahEBond @scsclassics@UTAustin One of our favorite topics! We're always looking for new additions to our list of classically-themed beers. Can't wait to get our hands on Colin's work!
