I’ve been to 4 Trump rallies. I’ve vocally supported Trump since 2019, and I can say he was one of my inspirations to get into politics. Having to watch someone you looked up to descend into something unrecognizable is very hard to accept. On the day of Trump’s assassination attempt in July 2024, my initial thought was that Trump had the chance to become one of the greats, by continuing the revival of the Christian faith, putting America First, and ridding our domestic politics of foreign influence. I’ve never really cared about the controversial stuff Trump put on social media until he started denigrating humans, dehumanizing certain groups, and attacking our Lord and Savior by making himself look like Jesus Christ. And renaming stuff for no reason at all. When Trump’s remaining vocal allies are people like Mark Levin, Ben Shapiro, and Benjamin Netanyahu, you need to take a serious look in the mirror. I will not be dragged down into whatever disaster this will become. I do not hate President Trump, and I don’t despise him, but I’m not going to be the supporter I once was when I don’t even know what he’s working toward anymore. I will pray and hope that the President will find his way to do great things with the time he has remaining. But the clock is ticking, and America is hurting. The time to listen and put ignorance aside is now.
